Here let's settle it. Vincent Clerc is better than Rougerie for France, and Rougerie is not our starter like Rokocoko is for the blacks. We have 3 main wingers. Look, i'm going to say it and probably going to end up getting hated on but Rokocoko has no defensive skills, and doesn't have a feeling of the game. Yeah he is fast and strong but he lacks the brain cells to become a great winger. (you can all disagree but he loses you the finals agaisnt france on that last try, with his non tackling)

He is far from a "great" defender. He is far from a "smart" winger. I agree he is fast, and strong. Like most of the All blacks, but i don't think he has much else. He is a bad defender (for an all black winger), and he doesn't have much talent. Now Rougerie might not be as fast, but he is smarter, and better in defence. As well, note that Clerc is our best winger, not Rougerie.

Who cares is smarter? It's not a quiz it's rugby and if your only arguments are that Roks is a 'bad defender' and Rougerie is 'better in defence' then you are failing to grasp the real beauty of what a good winger actually does. And to Roks 'doesn't have much talent' ruins what was otherwise an honest, mature, argument. Rokocoko is miles better, faster, stronger and way more talented than both the other wingers you have mentioned. His scoring rate is ridiculous.

Second point,i watched France's game today vs South Africa and Clerc has this feeling for the game that Rococoko lacks...i must admit that he is great as a killer winger, but this works with the Blacks. Put him with Italy and he wouldn't do much, while Clerc would do more. I think that this is New Zealand's main weakness in defence. On the other hand it does not matter which one is better between them, they're both great..
