NO ! all that sin against God aren't going to make it to heaven . the problem for me is when people try to justify their sins by saying they "can't help it" or whatever. when people in the church speak out on fornication(for example), you don't see folk making a billion videos on why fornication is right, do you?! when you sin against God ask for forgiveness & turn away from the sin

  • I stated this on a comment response. I know that homosexual sex is looked at as merely "physical attraction" and "lust". But there are instances in our world where straight people act outta must, too. Prostitution. Rape. One Night Stands. How are all of these right and "filed with love" when there are men who truely love each other? Weird thing is, gay men stay together longer than straight couples... ever wonder why? Gay relationships are NOT "physical attractions" in entirety. It's called love

  • You know what, I truly admire the boldness in this young man and the earthly intelligence that he speaks with. You are absolutely right about the unconditional love that God has for us all, however the reason I disagree is because it says in the bible, that lusting of the same sex is an abomination in the eyes of God and therefore it is not okay. Brother, I am not going to judge because it's not my job to do, but I have to abide by my beliefs and faith in the Word of God alone!

  • @biggtk First, I can list a bunch of verses that says that diverse sexualities are wrong, but that is not my aim; to be one of those fools that say someone is going to hell. Second, your body has EVERYTHING to do with, why do you think they call it "physical attraction"? It's literally something that your body yearns for, and I have verses for that also. The fact remains is that if a lie feels good we will make it truth, and you are felling good. You maybe a virgin, but the attraction feels good

  • @gewashington I have one question for that statement...if being gay is ONLY a "physical attraction", and gay men cannot love one another outside of the bedroom, then what about straight sex? All of the one night stands? those were love? the babies made out wedlock & end up in the foster care system, beaten, killed? those were God's plan? the rapes between straight men/ women... those were righteous because they happn'd with straight men/women? Staight sex can also be purely "physcal attraction".

  • @MrQuincy88 The difference between the two is that one is perversion and the other is not and the love that I speak of is Godly love. There is no way that a gay couple can experience the grace and love that God puts over holy matrimony BUT God does love them individually. Also all of the other scenarios you listed has nothing to do with God but of how the devil has tried to pervert the plans of God, God "wills that our souls would prosper"

In fact of all what you said, from one night stands on down, are issues today because we have separated sex from love. None of that is love at all, we as a people have change the definition of love as well as other words. The definition of love is GOD, because GOD is LOVE. He is no trying to destroy you or anyone but to tell you the truth of the Commandments of God which is for your good, protection and your healing. Obviously, it's up to you if want to cooperate.   • Read Romans 1:27, Leviticus 18:22, 1Corinthians 6 chapter, and in Genesis the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. You can NOT reconcile Christianity and Homosexuality. Its okay if you want to create your OWN religion. But dont INVENT your own form and then attempt to place God's stamp of approval on it. With Love...God Bless

  • @boyofjazz Read Deuteronomy 14:9-10 and Leviticus 11:9-12. Yes, the same Leviticus you mentioned. It's also an abomination to eat shrimps, shellfish and other seafood....sounds stupid right? But it's in The Bible. Why is there not as much passion to preach against restaurants who serve shrimp or the people who eat them as there is for gay people? It's all bullshit.

  • @Panamaschild The way that you know something is against God's Law is when you find it CONSISTENTLY throughout the Old Testament as WELL as the New Testament. Those counter arguments you offered are in the OLD Testament. In the NEW Testament, there is no reference to "shrimp" being a sin. HOWEVER, there are AMPLE references to homosexuality being a sin. It is THROUGHOUT the Bible. It is impossible for Christianity to be reconciled with this lifestyle because Christianity is based on SCRIPTURE.

How you'll use the Old Testament when you need to, but at the same time, it's not good enough to be backed up on it's own. Either it has to be backed up by the New Testament like you said, or the Old Testament was created only for learning but not to follow because that's what the New Testament is for blah blah blah.

    The bible doesn't mention anything about the gay sexual orientation. The problem is that people keep linking the definition of homosexuality with EVERY action of same gender sex. The bible condones pagan same sex rituals, as well as the action of heterosexual males having sex with men (sometimes abusing males: Romans 1).

    Proof: Deuteronomy 22: 20-21 (women who are not 'proven' to be virgins before marriage are killed). But there is no such law about men's virginity. Why? The old testament is STILL a part of scripture which has been deemed the word of God. So why then is it imperative that GOD kill non-virgin women, but not non-virgin men? Probably because it's a 'man-made' law, and not a law of God, which is my point.

    I believe I made my previous statement about 'Scripture', not just the new testament. And if you want a proclamation from the New Testament that sounds more like Man's law than God's law, then read 1 Corinthians 11:14 in which Paul says that it's unnatural for a man to have long hair.

  • Unaccording to todays popular belief, gay & lesbian is an abomination. Just like fornication and adultery is a sin! I aint no where near a saint but at least I'm not one to lie on God & say that He's ok with it, when He isnt. I have more respect for the gays & lesbians of the 60's, 70's, & even the 80's. At least they were man or woman enough to take responsibility for their actions & say that they shose to love someone of the same sex. This new generation is irresponsible and pathetic.

  • Question: are you a Christian? I am and I struggled (and still do) with what Donnie said. And I am completely honest with myself and know that my body would love to be Bi but I know that this is not acceptable in God's eyes, so I don't do it. I realize that it is a temptation and I do what the Bible says and rebuke it and it leaves. The fact that it leaves lets me know that it is NOT who I am but what is used to get me to fall. Also, can you find anywhere in the Bible where it says it's oaky?

  • And the Nicolaitans belief will not inherit the kingdom of God. what it is is that you can believe in God, and do whatever you want and still be saved. The fact is if all you had to do was to believe in God then there is no reason the devil himself should not be saved. it says clearly faith without works is dead and works without faith is dead. In Ephesians we find out that we are not fighting against flesh and blood, but agains principalities, spirits etc.

  • What is happening here is that, there is a lot of misunderstandings. First we need to realize that God doesn not hate people, He infact hates what we do. Sin brings a stench to the nostrils of God. And many people would disagree because well they lack biblical knowledge. in 1 Corinthians Ch6 verse 9, says clearly that homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of God.

  • Truth, God is a God of love. But love doesn't mean approval or acceptance when you are wrong. I love my children, but I don't always approve of what they do. Bottom line: God has a standard.: its called HOLINESS. Homesexuality and holiness do not mix. No sin and holiness pleases God. The choice is yours to live as you choose, but stop saying Christians who speak out against sin are full of hate. If that were true, we wouldn't care where you spend eternity.

  • @JustLovingJesus Romans 1:24-32 has been misunderstood for many years. It's falsely interpreted and preached in many Churches equating it to homosexuality generally speaking. Too few think to take that passage (and the few others) into its original ancient context. Go to Evangelicals Concerned ecwr dott orrg. There are many Christian pastors who no longer interpret those passages in the Medieval, anachronistic way that you and many others do.

  • It was as if the choice was chosen for me; I remember when I directed the choir at the church that I attended for years and reveled to my former pastor that I was (then) struggling with homosexuality, the treatment, and the distance that I got from him...that is another story in itself. It wasn't until I learned to accept who I am and that God loves me no matter what, that I was able to become comfortable within my own skin. You out did yourself on this posting and I really appreciate it!

I was molested at the age of 4, that did not make me gay... My father was emotionally, physically and verbally abusive to me...that did not make me gay... I was raised around women, that did not make me gay...

I am saved, filled with the Holy Ghost etc..and I am openly gay! I am now 30 years old, and I came out when I was 23 and serving in the military... growing up in church however and knowing that I was gay was not easy and it was very painful. It was people like DM who caused me to be depressed, have low self esteem, and even...

The word "homosexual" is not located in the original Hebrew or Greek text of the Bible. The word came into existence in the late 1800's. Jesus NEVER mentioned the subject in His teachings.   • @bosstrainers I really would like to have these statements with reference, I have been studying the theory that there is no hell as a place of torment in the original texts. Apparently that belief was harvested from the Roman priests, when Rome meshed its pagan religious leaders into the newly adopted Christian state religion. I am curious as to what the verses about inheriting the kingdom say in the ancient Greek. (I.e. liars,homosexuals, sorcerers, etc. not inheriting the kingdom.)

  • @kombuchaempire i actually did a lil research on that...in the KJV the word homosexual is not in that verse. in fact, no one knos what that word actually means...it was translated as masturbators until the 20th century. I forgot the exact Greek word used but it cannot be found in any other greek literature other than that place in the bible. there is a greek word used for those who have same sex relationships, however that word is not used. also, the naming of those who will not inheret the

  • kingdom of God are related in groups of 3. for example, the first 3 types of sinners listed are all related in some way...and then the next 3 and so on...in the group where homosexuality is placed (in translations other than the KJV), the group does not match up, unlike the others mentioned in the verse

  • this is where it becomes problematic. What Donnie explicitly stated in his sermon, the comments that warranted my attention, is that being homosexual makes you a perversion and that it is the failure of the parents and the community to why these children have not been taught otherwise. That is destructive commentary and very much untrue.

    My response to those statements have been, I havent been taught to be gay—so its the fault of no one to why I am. Gay, instead, is who I am.

  • The freedom that Im discussing is the same sort of freedom that a happens to a person who, after years of looking into the mirror and being dissatisfied with their face because it falls shy of representing the cultural standard of pretty, finally looks into the mirror to be accepting of their face as is. There are weights that plop from the shoulders when that freedom is tapped. It doesnt make susceptible to darker spirits, it allows you control of your life.

  • So to insist that young people must wage war against what you refer to as dark spirits is insisting that they must battle themselves in a war they had no say over and didnt cause. The internal fight that you are suggesting to our youth does not get won. There are adults that fought that fight as children and are suffering internally yet still.

    There is no self-love greater than freedom. None.

  • But just in this last statement, Anointedtouch, i think you have underestimated the issues...because my question to you now is when did you make "the choice" to define your sexual orientation? When were you pitted with the decision to be straight, gay, or bi? when? because I can't tell you when and who asked me that question because if it were that simple or if I were given those options I would not have decided to be gay. Why would I choose to be such a despised minority?

  • One more thing: So many people fail to realize that the stigmas tied to homosexuality push a great deal of homosexuals to God. They go actively searching for answers, actively building their faith, and actively getting to know God. There confusion draws them close to God and he does not turn them away, I know so many strongly religious homosexuals, but those who speak out against them never seem to know to much about religion just more about what they heard and dont understand.

Donnie McClurkin is speaking out on his beliefs, but for such a Gospel powerhouse he ought to know to teach love, he ought to know God is about acceptance, he ought to know to love thy neighbor, and he ought to know salvation is NOT about orientation but it is about a relationship with God.

    2) I dont deny myself or anything about me. I am very comfortable with who I am.

    3) I watched his video to be informed no for my viewing pleasure.

    So Jamie072 I would advise you not to speak out of turn, and to be weary of whom you attempt to criticize.

  • In my opinion no it wasn't love. There are ways to disagree with people without offending them.

    Now tell me Jamie how can Donnie claim to love anyone in the gay community when he is very distinctly trying to seperate himself from it? That is not love my friend, God would never seperate himself from us, and that is a major difference.
