No, it's an original world / story, though I did get some inspiration from Star Wars and other space opera and science fiction.

I've always liked anamorphic lense flares, thought they had a nice effect in that film, at least in the space shots. I don't plan to have lense flares in every shot like Star Trek though.

Good *cough*Brick*cough* Lord, that music is just amazing. I love it Smeagol, it induces mystery, adventure, sadness, and fear at the same time. The CGI and FX were awesome as well, as usual. One of these days I need to buckle down and learn those programs you use.

Tough to say but not for quite some time...right now it's looking like I might finish it by the end of 2010 (!) at the earliest. I've had a lot of other stuff going on, it's a big project, and I do plan to release some smaller stuff sooner.

If you actually try to search for it (google), then maybe you'l find out. Most people use monkeyjam because it's free, but the quality isn't as good as on you have paid for (most of the time).

I don't have a release date, no. In all likelihood it won't be done for quite some time, I began writing it in February 2008 and have only filmed about a fourth of it so far.

Not exactly - "space opera" is a genre of science fiction that tends to have some fantasy elements (Star Wars falls into this category), Wikipedia has a pretty good article on the genre.
