its pretty difficult to say he is the strongest man who ever lived when he does not have the highest of: snatch clean and jerk bench squat or deadlift..
@418cjpaul He did 880 with only a belt on squats, so likely he could be a contender for that. And for pure clean (excluding the jerk), he could probably beat anyone.
@anathamon@ptarleton uh taranenko totaled 475 to rezazadeh's 472.5. And krastev would have totaled higher than rezazadeh as well if the bulgarian team hadn't messed up with whatever they did to avoid drugs being detected.
@throwhammer With some doubt. He is legendary. He has the highest total of all time - which says a lot. It's hard to bring your best lifts together on 1 day. But Others have lifted more than him.
I guess its rather difficult seeing as you don't get much video footage coming out of Iran. I would have liked to have seen him doing deadlifts, bench, and other exercises.
@throwhammer he most likely did not bench more than once every 1 or 2 months, and he probably only deadlifted twice or thrice a year. This is not powerlifting.
paul anderson had stronger legs...800 for 10 reps...pisarenko supposedly cleaned 280 in training at a much lower bodyweight...

@throwhammer i'd say tied for strongest with antonia krastev (snatch) and Leonid Taranenko (clean and jerk) and rezazadeh has highest total.

@jiggasnap I stand corrected. Still the 3 strongest human beings in my opinion. Drugs or not.
