  • this song still gives me the shivers. simply amazing

  • I'm 2 and l enjoy this as much as l did one year ago

  • this is what id burn my one time machine trip on. to see them live back in the day. i turely feel i was born 20 years too late

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I've always referred to myself as a "PF Flyer"

  • I am a fetus and this is my favorite song!

  • This music for the dawn of creation, music worthy of playing for God, music for which the adjective "epic" should be reserved. Pink Floyd and laser light shows go together like wine and roses. I remember the PF laser show at the planetarium at Allegheny Center in Pittsburgh. It would be great if they still did that, because each new generation should enjoy Pink Floyd's timeless music.

  • Some of my favorite memories are me and my mom jamming to w.e.b.n 102.7 radio station. They played good rock music like this, and I'm glad my mom and I could share such a bond.

  • I was in 5th grade -The Wall- I came of age in the 80's. An era of turds in music. I had to go back a decade or more to find the music that has stuck with me until today. My friends at the time thought I was weird. Wonder if they still listen to Midnight Star/Paula Abdul/Madonna...

  • wouuuuu...notevole è dvvero gran bel lavoro, complimenti vivissimi !

  • I'd just like to thank my dad for raising me on the musical genius, I'm 14 and personally, I can't stand the music youth like me are expected to like these days. Nothing will ever compare to this, for years to come Pink Floyd will remain, being passed down through generations. I know that if I ever have children, I'll certainly raise them on Floyd. Thank you.

  • @TehHale Good for you! My Dad raised me on The Floyd way back in the 70's & I am now raising my son the same. He is only 8 & already loves Pink Floyd. I am so proud that he will be the 3rd generation in my family to appriciate REAL music.

  • @insanityisanoption I couldn't agree more! Congratulations on your son by the way!

  • @TehHale Haha, nice going man!

  • @insanityisanoption @tehHale My four kids ages 13, 10, 3 &1 are already raised on bands like Pink Floyd, Hendrix, Beatles, Led Zep, and countless others...None of this Bieber bullshit for them. They already know better. :) Daddy's raising them right!!

  • @indyracingnut something tells me that you and my dad would get along just fine

  • Thank you for the video!

  • I think i was born at the wrong time! I wish I was born at a time when real music was appreciated a time when Gaga wouldn't be called a music legend! legend is the one who's music will remain history forever and no matter if we have 1990 or 2990 it will still touch people and it still will be unforgivable... Lady gaga will be forgoten in 5 years or so , so why the hell would you call her a legend! I'm glad I'm not one of the 16 year olds who love gaga and bieber and i'm glad i know music!

  • pretty,:'(

this is the most pretty masterpeace.......

  • great

  • Tazer you are smart, I trained my boys for this music too! Just thank us real Rock Music Parents. Enjoy the past as it stands still in this music.

  • really great music transcends time and space and remains forever part of the universe

  • tTo the lady...to the unborn infant....you have given your child an audio milestone...the future will decide it's consequence....Floyd, I hope it goes the way that gives hours upon hours, of ,days upon days, years upon years...of sounds and sights...and whatever else enters into the equation ....

  • Wait... I'm confused. Which is which?

  • i am the 800 like woohoo!

  • I shed some manly tears at the last verse.

    So beautiful.

  • We were moving house and I was going through my mothers record collection she had since the 70's and I found, 'Meddle' One of my favourite albums of all time, I couldn't believe she had it on vinyl, from 30 years before. What a legend.

  • I'm a 'Floydian' in the deepest sense of the word.

All their music has a great meaning to me and each record in it's own way. 'The Wall' is one of the most 'psychological relevant' of them all to me, but if I would be banned to a desert island and be permitted to take 'just one' song along... it would be 'Echoes' for sure!

  • Watching this makes me sad because I wasnt born then :(

  • @xJezika Me tooooo :'(

  • I think cymbals spoil this a bit.

  • @aaaarrrgggghh fuck you

  • Thanks mate; I started hearing this at age of 10 because of my brother and since then for over 30 years I only added other bands to my top 10 to be always below #1. When I was 17 I made a 60' tape with this last segment from echoes repeated 10X so I could listen for one hour without being interrupted to roll back the tape. Now I'll do the same but with 10 different versions of echoes! ....I want to be buried in my finals hours having this notes trying to bring me back to life again!

  • Love this!

  • 9 people didnt hear the echoes

  • Past and present. Good music never dies. RIP Rick

  • 34 years? epicness matured into perfection.

  • Can someone please tell me, what's the name of the concert (from 5:03)? I rummaged through the comments below, but I got 10th page and I gave up : P Sorry if I overlooked.

  • grandes

  • la mejor banda del mundo

  • Heureux ceux qui ont grandi avec pink , j' avais 14 ans en 1971 , à l' âge ou nous sommes le plus réceptif à la musique , quand la musique vous parle vraiment . merci pour le vidéo .

  • "Easy there Sea Biscuit" LOL..That's the funniest thing I've heard all day!

  • magico

  • The earlier version is the best of the two.

  • Beautiful !!!

    I love Pink Floyd !!!

  • YEAH E C H O E S ... is the sound that returns from eternity

    Thanks for the mix

    pF

  • @erctube 'Sound that returns from eternity' is such a great way of expressing it! :)

Thanks, I couldn't have said it better.

  • AWESOME,GREAT,AVE PINK.

  • wow this sounded amazing

  • AAAHG! At 6:52, I was goin wherever we were going, and then you took me back to the sand box or wherever the hell that was..(sniff)...then that was getting pretty good too and now it's 8:39 and huh? I'm back in the future... who needs drugs? I'd love to see either of those completely..thx

  • No one said it was PF.. It's David and Richard re-igniting a great old PF song... They had a huge part in the music of Echoes.. and it sounds really good today.. This was from Gilmours 2006 tour which blew the audience away !

  • that's not Pink Floyd in the newer version, it's just Gilmour and Wright...Ringo and Paul wouldn't go around calling themselves the Beatles would they?

  • that's not Pink Floyd in the newer version, it's just Gilmour and Wright...

  • FLOYD´s art echoes forever and ever...

  • just another piece of art by pink floyd

  • echoes in live at pompeii is the better option. because the sound and energy of band... uff.

  • Awesome piece of Floyd History!

  • aprende a editar!

  • Nice job, but it doesn't really work, as they're in different keys.

  • That changes the meaning of my excistance

  • Phantom of the Opera! at 5:30!

  • OMFG! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! ORGASM!

  • I'm so glad I'm not a teenager today having to put up with the crap that passes for talent atm. I count myself lucky to have seen these absolute legends 4 times. Imagine how soul destroying it must be when the best you can aspire to is Lady Gaga and Justin Beiber. OMG the horror....

  • @Tazer691 im 15 and i dont know what i would do if i didnt have music like this and was stuck with lady gaga .

  • @023132 listen to gaga acoustic. shes got pipes dude.

  • @023132 personally I shut myself off from pop music long ago, there's still great modern music, I don't tend to think of it as when it is from, I prefer to think all music is timeless.

  • @023132

    I´m 7 and I agree

  • SUPER LIKE IT

  • These guys will never amount to anything.

  • @CubanCheGuevara i hope that was a joke

  • @minislash2112 - Of course it was a joke. My god, they

had no equal. They eclipsed the Beatles in their mature,

brooding style and poetry. Floyd's music was both

mystical and culturally important. I cannot think of a band

from the 60's that I miss more.

  • @CubanCheGuevara I completely agree... the reason i asked was because i know plenty of people who have never heard of the Floyd and thought they were a new band, and seriously said the same thing, that they wouldn't go anywhere... A fail on the parents part. im glad my parents raised me on this stuff.

  • brilliant

  • Are they going to tour again now richard is gone? its hard to replace him but you'll never know. How is PINK FLOYD "The Richard Wright tour " sound? maybe roger can be in there too. start saving your money guys.

  • Mr Gilmour is a good person

  • Прелесть,...................

  • one of the most EPIC songs EVER

  • Don't forget to have a good open mind, as well...this song really rocks. I'm not forgetting my first time hearing this

  • Will probably get zonked for this lol. The best way to listen to this is a set of headphones( cranked ) a beer ( for when the mouth gets dry ) and a good doobie. Just kick back and I can guarantee you that you will zone out to some of the best head rushes ever. Rock n Roll at its best.

  • Mason just beat the crap out of the cymbals, preferred the modern drummer rolling off the snare drum to the floor tom toms and finishing with the cymbal shot.

but overall enjoyed the variations of the two offerings ...nice job putting it together.

  • muy buena mezcla-gracias por compartirla-

  • think anyone got the buzz on for the live show?

  • one of the things that amazes me about pink floys is that you dont have to have 1000$ sound system to feel the magic of their music.. it is so true and real

  • PINK FLOYD ARE THE BEST BAND IN ALL TIMES THATS FOR SURE AND THIS MAGIC CAN BE REBORN ONLY FROM THIS BAND !

  • I prefer the more subtle, haunting 70's version.

  • It´s magic. There´s no better band on earth -in the past and in the future!

  • my dad showed me this - he passed his love of pink floyd to me XP

  • Various versions mixed... interesting, but frustrating.

  • the only difference is in the quality of modern electronics.

the passion has never diminished. David has been and always be the true guitar God.

  • i was there, third row close to Genesi's guitar player, great emotions

  • Great job on this video, pink...absolutely awesome.

    Thanks.

  • True music lasts throughout the ages. :)

  • was so much better in the old times

  • @dbull78..You are right ..They did get better.. But not because of Sid leaving. They just accelerated with there talent..

  • The post-Sid albums are definitely the best. Though once in a while you've got to listen to "Bike" just to have a laugh.

  • No hate! David Gilmour stepped up after Sid left and the band skyrocketed. Gilmour is in my opinion the greatest guitarist of all time certainly leading the league of Clapton, Hendricks, and May. They were and will remain the best!

  • @captcdd Oh come on, you can't miss Page!

  • @captcdd you do know thats Gilmour at pompei - Syd was long gone by the time of echos however if you look at early floyd and Syd on you tube you will find a lot of his sound though primative further developed by the group all the way to Dark side of moon.

But yes gilmour is a man who can hit the spot

  • @captcdd I read that Pink Floyd supported Syd his whole life financially because he couldn't work. Now that's loyalty

  • @captcdd There is no best, that's a matter of taste, Rory Gallagher, Jeff Back and and and and, but David is surely one of the best players of the Stratocaster.

  • @captcdd Ok David is one of the best, on the Strat he is just great, but there's no best

  • @captcdd hendrix*

  • @captcdd yes i agree with you 10.0000% i went to see ROGERS WATERS concert many time is okay but gilmour much super my opinion

  • @captcdd im not gonna listen to anything you say, since you mispelled Hendrix.. christ

  • @blcksbth Easy there sea biscuit! My bad, A guy that works for me spells it that other way....a thousand pardons, but my assessment and opinion stand.

  • @captcdd hello handrix.(It's spelled wrong)

  • Of course I love it...

  • Cruel truth, Syd had talten, and was indeed one of the best artist of that time, but David Gilmour took Pink Floyd to another plateau...

  • @richeyxx My thoughts exactly...

  • I agree dbull78 .. cruel true unfortunately ...but Syd was one of the finest artist of that time..

  • Allow me to give you some lessons in audio

  • Echoes is the #1 Pink Floyd song period.

  • RIP Wright

  • 2:49 Holy Shit Yes!!!

  • Pompeii > Gdansk

  • this is the goat.

  • You're kidding. There's no debate that they improved vastly after Sid left.

  • Its too bad those guy's have to get old.. some people should live forever.. But I guess in many ways they will...

  • Yeah! I´m a Floydiac since more than 30 years, and I love it!!!!

  • @7:34 Looks like the setup for Disaster Area, hitchhikers know whadda I mean?

  • no they moved on after sid left and brought his legacy with them that made them into the band that they became

  • FOR those of us that did the60's 70's and 80's scene there isn't to many bands that can match the genius of flyods music it still takes me away on a trip!

  • @saikiranoruganti I Absolutly agree. I feel the exact same way.

  • Can anyone better more than 1,000,000,001 listens ?

  • The best.

  • there is something magical about this part which they played Live at Pompei, no where else I felt that magic created again. Rest have their own flair, but the live at Pompei version is something which stirs some rare emotions... does anyone agree here?

  • @saikiranoruganti yes, I definitely agree. I used to play their music for my son - before he was born, with headphones on my pregnant belly - he came into this world knowing what great music sounded like. Wasn't that nice of me?

  • @momengineer1 hahahaha, I will do the same :P

  • @momengineer1 No. He's probably going to either renounce all his possessions and marry a moose or go on a killing spree at 28.

  • @Skywalker327 Actually, he's 30 now and has done neither of those things! He still loves PF too!

  • @momengineer1 I could only envy you are not my mom... Respect! :)

  • @momengineer1 My father did the same when my mom was pregnant, and I'm glad he did it!

  • @momengineer1 And the award for Mother of the year goes to.... ;-)

  • @momengineer1 And the award for Mother of the year goes to.... ;-) I love Floyd. My wife hates them (or at least, she doesnt "get" the music).... Dont think I could ever have persuaded her to do the same as you did!

  • @momengineer1

Me too! Only not with headphone but *blasting* out of the stereo :-) My kids are now 18 and they're rockers. I've done my duty.

  • @momengineer1 No, now he will always be missing something...

  • @momengineer1 - ur son is blessed for sure!

  • @momengineer1 thats awesome. he'll thank you one day when he realizes what good you did.

  • @momengineer1 thats what my parents did(: and forsure im 13 and the only one in the school that knows good music

  • @momengineer1 .. you're a good Mommy...

  • @momengineer1 That is a great story! Seriously. I hope that he has a well developed ear for great music, and can contribute to the world what you "enlightened" him to, before his birth. You are one awesome Mom, really. I can only wonder how many future Moms do the same thing?

  • @momengineer1 wanna be my mom....?:)

  • @momengineer1 holy crap.....i did too. my sons favorite band is pink floyd and he loves neil young...since thats all i played on the headphones when i was pregnant

  • @saikiranoruganti I do... I get what you mean man..

  • @saikiranoruganti beacuse of the openes of the sound and the envirnoment because they use much delay echo and feedback so in open spaces you hear it diferently then in a room ;) it's magical

  • @saikiranoruganti it because when it climax's, you can feel it running through your body and you have the most awakening feeling. similar to the feeling of being reborn from a super-natural world like our own. i know how you feel.

  • @saikiranoruganti

The Pompeii VHS was the first time I discovered Pink Floyd, was completely blown away how awesome/cool it was. Best PF release IMO.

  • @saikiranoruganti / i agree

  • at 2:48, the very best part of the song starts it is just amazing

  • @LordofJimmy I think it's better too. @every1else yes syd wrote amazing songs but not classics and yes Roger wrote quite a few classics but bothe David gilmoure and Richard wright wrote amazing songs I mean richard wrote welcome to the machine an david wrote numerous classics one for example is wish u were here

  • one of the most beautiful songs ever

  • Yah their music did get better, Sid was instrumental in getting the line up together.

  • @Tedericoe Syd** sorry

  • the album meddle is such an underated album.

its more of a "quiet" pink floyd album. some people said there music was to loud and they just wanted trouble.

    listen to this album

  • the cool thing is, hes playing the same guitar in both of these videos.

  • on the gong

  • one

  • where is roger guys???????? he is the head!!!! why isnt he there¿?????

  • simple y sencillamente puro arte...!!!!!!!!

I feel so high every time I heard this.....!!!!!!!!

  • not bad for a bunch of old guys ;-)....thanks for the memories

  • ahh yes live at pompeii !! love this one

  • was this song recored in abby road ?

  • WOW!!! Fantastic!!!!!

  • I dream ? This song is just... a dream?

  • Nooooo

  • The version done a few years ago was great, but nothing can compare to that performance from POMPEII. It is simply mind-numbing.

I think the bulk of the song was written by Rick, certainly the first part of this video. Roger came up with ideas like feeding the piano through the leslie speaker, and wrote the lyrics of course.

  • @LordoftheJimmy Pompeii version clearly is the best :-) A masterpiece.

  • Actually I think Pompeii is better than the studio version!

  • @LordoftheJimmy For its time it was revolutionary in many ways and it remains timelessly radical.

  • funny, thats the same black strat he used 34 years ago, much modified over the years but its got the same body.

  • Yeah sure this is Gilmour's song.
