this movie could have been a lot better... reason why it sucked so bad is because it was poorly funded, that was the main issue. first off they used a mechanical shark, and low rated actors. If the movie was funded right, if it had a diffrent plot, a good director, good actors, and the best special effects team universal studios can get, this movie wouldve brought jaws back to life.

I don't care if I'm the only one who loves this movie, but Lorriane Gary pulled out of retirement to make this as her last film, and she was great, her vs the shark was all I wanted to see. I always find it sad towards the end, just knowing it's the last jaws.. I'm one of a kind to think, I didn't care if the story made no sense and that the shark was only in the film for 3 minutes. It was a fun final... plus, it was one of Judith Barsi last films... poor girl.
Lorriane Gary's acting, Judith Barsi's adorableness (If that's a word) and the two semi satisfying deaths scenes (Mainly the Bannana boat) keep this film watchable for me but it's still undeniably the worst in the series.
You know it's funny the first Jaws got a 100% rating. And the last Jaws got a 0% rating. Just goes to show that any good movie series can drown in failure...

@TheNgamer1 Here i your anwer. Jaw the Revenge had alot of scenes cut out of it. The idea wa to have Martin Brody getting a curse from a voodoo woman. In turn it was going to be Martin that died in the opening of the movie but they couldnt get Roy Shieder (sp) to return even for a quick role. They ended up cutting that out but then it never gave a reaon for shark attacks. PLUS Hogie was an undercover FBI agent but they didnt get into that either. UGH, just a bad movie all around

I'll bet that when Richard Dreyfuss was released from prison If he watched any (except jaws 2) sequel to jaws he would have been glad to be in prison eh.
This is one of the worst movies ever made. the acting is horrible, the plot is ridiculous, the effects are awful with the shark that manages to swim without moving his tail, but it is definitely in the 'so-bad-it's-good' category, and if you've ever seen Plan 9, you know what I mean when I say that that's a compliment.

There's a difference between Liking&enjoying films, I enjoy films like Jaws:The revenge, Trolls 2 etc but Transfomers doesn't fit into either of those categories, just a horrible film& terrible adaptation.
@JMcauley211 Transformers 2 was just CGI overkill with little plot to back it up, and after a while, CGI tends to wear down your eyes. I think part of the reason I would gravitate towards Jaws 4 than Transformers 2 and other movies like that is because the shark (animatronic) is real. Special effects are better and actually special when there's something real in front of the camera. Movies like Tremors or King Kong (1933) are so memorable because of the special effects, not the visual effects.

As for the roaring shark, I think that was just meant to be a dramatic sound effect; like the dead shark's "roaring" as it sank to the bottom in the first film.

The whole concept of a shark hunting a family is just pathetic! Plus, Mario van Peebles is attacked on screen, where he is ripped in half. He then appears at the end of the film, intact and swimming. Micheal Caine was swallowed by the shark, which you can briefly see, and then appears climbing onto the boat afterwards, complaining that the sharks breath smelled bad. The shark had previously eaten his airplane as well, which is the stupidest thing I have ever seen in a film.

Many scenes in this film are just to bad to describe in writing. The plot, acting, script, special effects and everything is just terrible in this film.
The thought of an aging Michael Caine and menopausal Lorraine Gary doing the nasty doesn't make for a romantic plot.
And of course, sharks aren't exactly brilliant animals. How one knows the members, travel plans, and history of a certain human family is beyond any reasonable explanation.

Micheal Caine already said being in Jaws: The Revenge bought him a house, i believe a car an got his entire family a free trip to the Bahama's, Hell Ill star in ''Jaws 5'' for even half that.... So i think he made out quite well for being in this film
At-least Jaws: The Revenge despite the cheesy storyline it was still more entertaining then the Bore-fest that was Jaws 3.

I never saw the ending where Jake survives and the shark 'blows' up. I was always used to them stabbig it in the side with the broken mast, and the shark sinking as it bled to death. That ending was more plausible, although the whole film was ridiculous.
Despite all the negative comments/opinions Jaws: the Revenge AND Jaws 3D get, I, personally, found, and STILL find, BOTH films, entertaining. In my opinion, they sure beat what audiences are packing theaters to see TODAY!

Really, I don't see why this is so terrible.
I just want to know: What on earth is so terrible about this movie? Sure it wasn't as great as the original, but that wasn't its goal. Everybody keeps saying "Horrible move," "this movie sucked," "it was a piece of crap" and so on...but WHY? No one is giving a valid reason for why exactly this movie was so horrible. Personally, I liked it better than Jaws 3, and maybe better than Jaws 2. If someone can reply and just answer my question...WHY?

@BuildersBlockStudios The thing is people think the film has gone on long enough, also, sharks don't hold grudges-or roar- and most Jaws fans (like myself) LOVE Brody! and he wasn't in 3 or 4, in fact it's said he dies in Jaws, also people don't like to see the Brody's eaten by sharks- they're the heros!!

And I guess that's the main point; it's considered "unrealistic" for the shark to hold a grudge against people. Yet Hollywood in general is dominated by movies that would be considered "unrealistic;" a bunch of talking toys, a house that travels halfway around the world just by having a bunch of balloons tied to it, a time-traveling robot assassin? So, yeah.

@TasteTheRainbow890 The thing is, Roy Scheider was actually contacted about being in this movie, since they wanted him to return as the main character. But he turned it down, so they wrote his character out. I don't know about Jaws 3, though. And personally, that's MY least favorite in the series by far. THAT movie was the piece of crap. As for the roaring shark, I think that was just meant to be a dramatic sound effect; like the dead shark's "roaring" as it sank to the bottom in the first film.

@BuildersBlockStudios I'm with you! I love ALL the JAWS movies! Unlike A LOT of people who "cut JAWS: the Revenge 'down to size,'" I, personally, enjoyed this so-called "terrible" film. I guess the ones who DIDN'T like it, UNFORTUNATELY, can't "think for themselves!" Heck, I think JAWS: the Revenge is A LOT BETTER than these STUPID re-makes that are plaguing the movie business!

The whole concept of a shark hunting a family is just pathetic! Plus, Mario van Peebles is attacked on screen, where he is ripped in half. He then appears at the end of the film, intact and swimming. Micheal Caine was swallowed by the shark, which you can briefly see, and then appears climbing onto the boat afterwards, complaining that the sharks breath smelled bad. The shark had previously eaten his airplane as well, which is the stupidest thing I have ever seen in a film.

Many scenes in this film are just to bad to describe in writing. The plot, acting, script, special effects and everything is just terrible in this film.
The thought of an aging Michael Caine and menopausal Lorraine Gary doing the nasty doesn't make for a romantic plot.
And of course, sharks aren't exactly brilliant animals. How one knows the members, travel plans, and history of a certain human family is beyond any reasonable explanation.

Micheal Caine already said being in Jaws: The Revenge bought him a house, i believe a car an got his entire family a free trip to the Bahama's, Hell Ill star in ''Jaws 5'' for even half that.... So i think he made out quite well for being in this film
At-least Jaws: The Revenge despite the cheesy storyline it was still more entertaining then the Bore-fest that was Jaws 3.
What's even Sadder then that is this was one of the last decent Shark films to come out..

Well, Jaws the revenge was a pretty bad movie.
In fact it was really bad. But the only reason I'm not rating the movie 1 star is because at the last scene it's jaws vs. Mrs.Brody and it's the last confrontation of their whole family being put through the devil with JAWS. And then JAke survives. WTF?

jaws 1: beautiful, perfect, one of the best films ever made
jaws 2: good but not actually necessary
jaws 3: no point, characters were incrdebly boring, the scene went from amity to florida, you dont advertise a shark killer shark in your theme park (sea world) to attract audience.
jaws 4: terrible, abosutly embarrassing to the jaws series, doesn't explain anything in the film such as why did the shark blow up? why did he spare jake? why was it following the remaining brody family?

I never saw the ending where Jake survives and the shark 'blows' up. I was always used to them stabbig it in the side with the broken mast, and the shark sinking as it bled to death. That ending was more plausible, although the whole film was ridiculous.

@Deidaraisking i think it's called jaws the revenge cuz apparently, one of the brody kids gets eaten by the shark and mrs. brody is the one who kills it in the end, so it's kind of like she's taking revenge on the shark for killing her son. i dunno for sure though. that's just my guess

Things I learned from JAWS: THE REVENGE:
1.Great whites are clarvoiant; they know when a previous great white has been killed by a guy, who the guy's family members are and where they are at all times.
2.Great whites can roar.
3.Great whites don't like the taste of black people. (How else do you explain Jake surviving after the shark bites into him?)
4.If you stab a great white with a ship's mast it'll blow up.
