I don't go out that much...which is ironic cause I live in Australia...one country that is known for drinking a lot. I go to the occasional rave which is fun, they at least play good music, and people don't grind, because its not cool there and you don't have to drink to have a good time, that's the best part.
Here in Belfast there's this one bar I go every Saturday because A - free entrance, B - reasonably priced drinks, C - cool music (for a bar anyway) and D - the female crowd there seems to like me. Also, it's about the only place where I actually let loose enough to dance.
My grandma's 62 years old and she goes out to bars every Friday night with her sisters but they go to a old drunk kind of bar were it's just sitting around the bar table

I don't really see the whole point of going to clubs or bars either and I live in Las Vegas!!! I prefer going to coffee houses or tea houses to hang out. Their quiet and you don't have crappy club pop songs with people fist pumping to them. For social outlets, I'm really getting into contra dancing this year. But if you have bad knees, that could be a problem. Then again, my right knee isn't in the best shape, but I feel that contra actually helps it some.

I like going to the bars because they are way better then going to clubs. I don't dance and I hate dancing so I hate being in a place where I'm forced to dance by random females I meet. Last time I went to a bar, some 400lb gal kept trying to grind on my friends & I. After all of us turned her down with "Die. Now." looks, she slipped twice in the puddle of beer she made while "dancing". She decided to blame that second slip on her friend whom she punched after regaining her footing. It was dark, too loud to hear the friends I was with, the drinks were too expensive & I was constantly bumping shoulders with people I have no interest in talking to, let alone touching.
I don't go to bars (I'm only in High School) and never will, but I agree with the booty shorts, I HATE booty shorts and the fact that they're the only shorts made nowadays, I have not worn shorts since I was eleven because I can not find regular shorts anymore. Besides, the only girls who can wear them are tall, skinny ones, and even they do not look good in them.

For me, I don't always like Bars. You are right they get crowded and there are a lot of assholes, but I do enjoy them from time to time with friends. Irish bars tend to be a bit of a cattle mart at times which is the downside, apparently in the US you don't get so many people kissing in bars but here it's everywhere, which is the only part I'm not a fan of. Like you, I prefer the more chill bars. For instance, here in Bowling Green, KY (yeah great bar scene, you can't even buy cold alcohol on Sundays here, but it's where I go to school so I have to make due) there is this bar called Utley's. It has the aspects of a place that was, once, not too bad, but has now become a bit of a dive. However, there's lots of space, pool tables, dart boards and a touch screen jukebox. Even when the place is hopping, it's not overly insane like a club.
@jw870206 Anyway, I do also go to this one bar in Louisville on 4th Street Live! called Sully's Saloon. It has more of a club-like atmosphere to it, because there's a DJ, the music is really loud and there's plenty of dancing. But I go there anyway just to have drinks (I conveniently pick a table close to one of the bars as there are multiple bars within the saloon) and get tipsy or drunk because I get these happy hours from them (2-3 hours of free drinks, who can pass that up? lol).

He told me to either ditch my sunglasses in the trash or take them back to the car. I tossed them. I did get to dance a little, but after that it just wasn't cool. Then all the drunk sluts got up onto one of the bars and were flashing their shit to everyone, and guys were touching them. Then two of these hussies got into a fight on the bar.

I just like to dance to the beat however way i chose, and whomever will dance accordingly to their capabilities and go crunk and outta control with me. If you let yourself go, and not worry about being a good dancer, having people watch you, ect... you will have alot more fun in the long run. I like going to the bars because they are way better then going to clubs. I don't dance and I hate dancing so I hate being in a place where I'm forced to dance by random females I meet. Plus every time I go to a club a fight alway happens or someone shots the place up. Other then that at least at bars I can chill and enjoy myself with my friends. The only draw back to bars are the people that randomly want to hug you and want to tell you stuff. But hey thats just me lol

Last time I went to a bar, some 400lb gal kept trying to grind on my friends & I. After all of us turned her down with "Die. Now." looks, she slipped twice in the puddle of beer she made while "dancing". She decided to blame that second slip on her friend whom she punched after regaining her footing. It was dark, too loud to hear the friends I was with, the drinks were too expensive & I was constantly bumping shoulders with people I have no interest in talking to, let alone touching.

I don't go to bars (I'm only in High School) and never will, but I agree with the booty shorts, I HATE booty shorts and the fact that they're the only shorts made nowadays, I have not worn shorts since I was eleven because I can not find regular shorts anymore. Besides, the only girls who can wear them are tall, skinny ones, and even they do not look good in them.

Man you are going to the wrong places to get drinks. $6 Beers? Last night the place I went to had $5 Domestic pitchers and $10 Liquor Pitchers!
For me, I don't always like Bars. You are right they get crowded and there are a lot of assholes, but I do enjoy them from time to time with friends. Its more about the camaraderie with my buddies than the actual atmosphere. However back when I was single it was a good place to meet chicks who were DTF...I'm just Sayin'

Thank god I've never gone clubbing. I hate my personal space being blown apart with guys riding all up on my shit. I prefer to go bowling with friends or see a movie or just invite them over and make them bring their own drinks and sit and watch shitty movies for the hell of it, sometimes with a drinking game attached. And yeah I've even had an xbox drinking party, that's a real good laugh!

clubs that are full of 17-20 year old college people and degenerates. Never heard this shots song sounds funny though. Irish bars tend to be a bit of a cattle mart at times which is the downside, apparently in the US you don't get so many people kissing in bars but here it's everywhere, which is the only part I'm not a fan of. I'm rambling and forgot my point. Oh well great video. :)

I'm from Ireland and obviously we're quite famous for drinking but theres such a broad variety of places to go here that you can definitely choose what kind of night you're going to have, theres your pubs, your pub-clubs, your bars, your fancy bars, your young clubs, your 20-something y/o clubs, you can even pick the music you want. i'm 23 (our legal drinking age is 18) so been around the scene for a while and the behaviour you're talking about really only happens here in the...

I don't understand the appeal for bars either. I don't *hate* bars, but they're not really my thing. I like pubs, restaurants and cafes, and places where I can hear myself and others speak, instead of going half-deaf from hearing the blaring top-40 tunes in your typical bar. I like to dance and have a couple of drinks at a club once in a while---but certainly not every week, or even every month. And yeah, it's not likely that I'm going to find awesome boyfriend at a bar or club, so...meh!

I rarely have enough money to blow at bars. Also Im a little anti-social (small-talk sucks). But I went to this huge 100 classic car show in the town next to mine. It was hot that day, so I went into the bar, and to my surprise the bar was packed....At 2:00. But I luckily got a seat at the bar and I just chilled for an hour talkin to people old enough to be my parents. Good times.

Like you, I prefer the more chill bars. For instance, here in Bowling Green, KY (yeah great bar scene, you can't even buy cold alcohol on Sundays here, but it's where I go to school so I have to make due) there is this bar called Utley's. It has the aspects of a place that was, once, not too bad, but has now become a bit of a dive. However, there's lots of space, pool tables, dart boards and a touch screen jukebox. Even when the place is hopping, it's not overly insane like a club.

@jw870206 Anyway, I do also go to this one bar in Louisville on 4th Street Live! called Sully's Saloon. It has more of a club-like atmosphere to it, because there's a DJ, the music is really loud and there's plenty of dancing. But I go there anyway just to have drinks (I conveniently pick a table close to one of the bars as there are multiple bars within the saloon) and get tipsy or drunk because I get these happy hours from them (2-3 hours of free drinks, who can pass that up? lol).

@jw870206 I went to a club called O'Malley's, also in Louisville. Not the best night. Why? First of all, the dumbass bouncer at the front was a total douche. He told me to either ditch my sunglasses in the trash or take them back to the car. I tossed them. I did get to dance a little, but after that it just wasn't cool. Then all the drunk sluts got up onto one of the bars and were flashing their shit to everyone, and guys were touching them. Then two of these hussies got into a fight on the bar.

I prefer to have "fun" in the daytime when most of the bar cattle are still either asleep or at work. Sadly, most people feel forced to partake in bar culture because it`s one of the few places where meeting a potential spouse is relatively easy. I`m sure some really nice bars exist but it`s just not my thing.Maybe if I was an alchoholic.

Bar culture is not my thing either. Some clubs are okay, and I like my sweet wine. Other than that, I'm a morning nature-hugging lovebird with a nerdiness for museums and galleries.

I rather spend my time alone with my "good" music of smooth jazz, classical, or other of my miscellenious collection, corner myself with a book or artwork, and I'm in my happy place. When it comes to night life, I don't stick around for long; sometimes it scares me. Don't feel bad to be "out" of the crowd.You won't regret it in the future :)

OMG, I sooo totally agree with you! You know, in my single days, I went to a bar only twice, and twice to a night club-- and it was NOT fun. The first time was awkward because, well-- it was my first time, and I was not used to the creepiness. The second time wasn't fun either. Or the club, it was tiring. I'd so much more prefer staying home reading a book... and now that I'm married, we'd rather stay home and cuddle, or watch YouTube videos. :) We don't like bars. We TOTALLY agree with you!

I just like to dance to the beat however way i chose, and whomever will dance accordingly to their capabilities and go crunk and outta control with me. If you let yourself go, and not worry about being a good dancer, having people watch you, ect... you will have alot more fun in the long run. With or without the alcohol induced coma they call 'nightlife'.
