Frankie was so gifted as a singer, performer and musician. If he had not gotten into drugs, he would have become as famous as Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, Bobby Darren, and so many other top singer/performers. He would have had a long distinguished career. He was so young, and so tormented when he passed away.
llol funny thing about this song is that before paul anka recorded it he asked frankie if he wanted to sing his song that he wrote and he turned it down if he said yes it would have been another big hit and would prob still be alive or lived longer atleast
Need to add this I just feel we are slightly overlooking one factor!! Yes Frankie had a wonderful and powerful delivery on all his songs but just listen to that tight magnificent backgorund harmony that the Teenagers brought into all of his hits!! they to were indeed worthy of all the good comments we share here. To me it will allways be Frankie Lymon & The TEENAGERS Thank You
Doo_Wop,there's nothing like it. You know Paul Anka has this recording thinking, "I never thought that I would hear this tune sung better then me." Great job Frankie.
