Being a 225282 gross ton ship it is definately the BIGGEST ship in the world!!! But sadly I never go on RC ships. I only go on Princess ships, they are pretty big such as the Ruby and Emerald but NOT as big as the Oasis!!

That is crazy, so many staff and people involve in this ship plus helicopters and many boats surrounding for its every stop. I wonder if they make a good profit? Cos if you think of it they have to pay for advertising agents, tour operator, stock, and many more plus the debts for building the ship. Then again they might have the money since the company Royal Caribbean is a large company owning & operating more than one ship.

Prices of course vary based on the date you travel and type of cabin you book. The average inside cabin on certain dates is around $1,400 pp. The best rate I found was on December 11th, where the inside cabin is currently $1,250 pp Travel agents at times have lower rates if they have group space, or they can offer other value added things like a ship board credit.  We'd be happy to check the best rates for you when you're ready.

No, Oasis of the Seas does not have enough lifeboats for everybody. RCCL bribed IMO, DNV, national authorities etc. so that the ship wouldn't have to comply with SOLAS regulations etc.

Most ships look alike now-a-days. The only way to really distinguish them is by the smoke stack configuration... and perhaps the size. There really is no other design, unless someone designs or builds a giant catamaran.

Yeah, there are only couple of parts in the exterior of passenger ships like this that can be designed with aesthetics in mind. Unlike in some ships you can't have large side windows because the space is taken up by cabin balconies.

Don't forget colouring and such. They can really make a difference.

Anyway, it's not like this hasn't happened before. I can't really distinguish those old liners from each other...

The problem is that that's pretty much what cruisegoers want. If you build a ship that looks good, someone else will build a floating ghetto like that and grab all the passengers because they want open balconies in their cabins etc. that make modern cruise ships butt-ugly...
