I don't think "survival of the fittest" can really play out with mankind involved. Not with our technology. What are the whales supposed to do? Grow super impentrable armor?These whalers will completely devour and demolish more than one whale species if aloud to hunt freely. Once they've eradicated one species(or several at once) they'll move on to the next species, and then the next, and then the next...to the point of complete extinction of various whale species.

Whaling is not survival of the fitest. It's complete and utter annihilation of already endangered species inside a sanctuary sanctioned of for the preservation of whales. It would only be survival of the fitest if the whales actually had a chance to survive. To fight back, hide, or get away..and they don't.

Whaling has been around since the turn of the second millennium for their meat, blubber for oil, and bone for tools and building materials. With the new technology these days, it is more expensive to use whale oil and bone and meat than it is for items man makes, which is also better for humans. After whales, human slaughter is next. Read a book.
