(2) US can't/shouldn't rewards illegal immigration with green cards. If US needed more immigrants (not agreeing or disagreeing with that), bring people who can wait and follow the proper process
(3) Being hard-worker and have a whole illegal family is no excuse for crossing the border illegally.

@lotwyo Agreed, except for one point. Unless they have US citizen immediate relatives or a specialized college degree there is virtually no way for a person to "get in line" and "follow procedures." If he didn't have a Visa when he came in at age of 5, if his parents brought him in illiegally through the border then he cannot get a greencard even if he is married to an US citizen. He had had to come in with a Visa, that's what happens in most these cases. The DUI and the drug charges didn't help either. Specially the DUI.

Recently, US customs have been stopping people heading OUT of the US to check for guns etc. The cartels get the guns in the US, sure, that doesn't mean the US government supplies them with guns. Well, my wife and I were in a car crash caused by an illegal immigrant. He disappeared and we were stuck with the bill so to speak. Why not apply for US citizenship. If I was here from age 5 to mid twenties and married maybe applying for citizenship would make the priority list. I guess having a DUI and a drug possession charge doesn't help his case.

If he didn't have a Visa when he came in at age of 5, if his parents brought him in illiegally through the border then he cannot get a greencard even if he is married to an US citizen. He had had to come in with a Visa, that's what happens in most these cases. The DUI and the drug charges didn't help either. Specially the DUI.

Technically, his wife could have petitioned form him to live in the US, but it would have most likely been denied since he was living here illegally. Well, my wife and I were in a car crash caused by an illegal immigrant. He disappeared and we were stuck with the bill so to speak. Why not apply for US citizenship. If I was here from age 5 to mid twenties and married maybe applying for citizenship would make the priority list. I guess having a DUI and a drug possession charge doesn't help his case.
