This is a stunning production from a vocal, acting and aesthetic perspective. All 3 ladies at their prime. Te Kanawa is creamy to the hilt and emotionally focused (perhaps her finest). Troyanos is strong and passionate and Blegen is timid and light. Kurt Moll is loud and larger than life and almost steals the show. Fine conducting from Levine.
