Well, clearly there is more to the story, as if there was a return to the gate to take someone off the plane, that is not something handled lightly and there must have been reasons other than what the situation appeared to be. It wouldn't be out of spite because that simply doesn't make sense. Think about it, collectively as a flight crew, you have to go here, there, and the other place.......the sooner you can complete your missions for the day, the sooner you can get some rest.
this isnt the fault of usairways, it can happen on any airline. if the flight crew feels there is a security concern, they have the right the kick someone off the plane. they cant do anything when they are in the air, would you rather have had the plane divert somewhere? im sure there are more sides to this story. like i said, this can happen on any airline. its not the fault of the airline or the staff. i live in charlotte, and fly us airways all the time, and i always get treated with respect.

oh dang that really sucks, but yes, as a CSA for US Airways, we do take the brunt of all the complaints about flight attendants and such. in all honesty we really do want to get our passengers to where they need to be, at the time they expect to be there. its sad that a lot of customers don't see it that way, but at my station, we love sending our aircraft out on time, and it frustrates us so much whenever we have any sort of delay.
You as a passenger would definitely prefer if things were taken care of on the ground, rather than well on your way in the air. While certain precautions may be inconvenient, they are a precaution to ensure safety of all on board.

It isn't necessarily US Airways that sucks, there may have been more of a safety level involved than anything else in order for the captain to actually return to the gate. Incidents happen on all airlines, so switching isn't going to solve anything. Also won't punish US Airways since they gain a customer from another airline (mad about something there) for each they lose, while that airline gains you to replace their lost customer.
@animechic131 all airlines have flight delays at some point, not just US, and unfortunately luck was not on your side when that happened. its unfair to say you wont fly an airline just because of a flight delay. most flight delays are beyond the control of the airline, like air traffic congestion, and weather (both not the fault of the airline). flight delays are an unfortunate part of running an airline. had it happened with delta you would be saying the same thing, and thats unfair as well
Easy mistake.....Charlotte sits on the NC/SC border (and the nicest parts of the city are on the south/southeast side of the city; and although the NC natives don't like to admit it, all the real 'movers and shakers' throughout the city's history have been native SOUTH Carolinians) Sorry about the bad experience (but I can think of worse places to suffer a layover...I like Charlotte and US Airways). Hope you had a good b-day when you finally got to Pittsburg.
The pilots are fine. It's the company that sucks. 1 out of 5 flights I've taken with U.S. Airways were delayed. Charlotte is the worst. That's where you will be stuck. I almost missed my cruise embarkation because of this crappy airline. Southwest is the best. Tell your brother to go work for them, instead.
this one time i was going from Chicago to Los Angeles, but my flight kept getting delayed. got stuck in the airport from 11 AM till 9:30 PM. it sucked soo bad
Fly JetBlue. LAX to PIT via JFK or BOS. It's out of the way sure, but you get free snacks and drinks and 36 channels of TV. It's so much better than US Airways. Trust me,
Omg! My parents and I were going to Cancun, Mexico and we were flying Delta and one o the flight attendants over slept so we missed our connecting flight, lost our baggage, and didn't get to Mexico until 3 days later. However, Mexicana is AMAZING!
It's a shame when paying passengers are treated in such an undignified manner and thrown off a flight for such an immature reason. What's even more disturbing is that no other passenger who was nearby spoke up for this woman because of fear that they would also be thrown off the flight. To start Charlotte is in North Carolina!!!! oh goodness. Former USAirways flight attendant here. You would be AMAZED at what passengers will do to the flight attendants. Harressment in ANY form is not tolerated between the in-flight crew and passengers. I myself had a few people removed from flights for cussing at me because they didnt want to stow their bags. When I did it there was no negotiating . I had them removed. The whole airline industry is a big mess and I GLADLY left last year.
we were coming back from texas and we missed our flight to charlotte because our other flight was late and we couldnt find the terminal when we were at dallas, so we ended up not going to charlotte and taking 2 extra flights home.
@ijustine super sorry to hear about us airways.. usually when a flight is delayed/cancelled/etc because of the airline (ie: not weather) you can get compensated with airline money/food vouchers, hotel, extra miles, etc. I wonder what happened to the women. this is why i fly delta. the first time we flew with them, we checked our largest bag and used our smaller ones for carry ons to save money. the guy at the counter then decides to check the rest of our bags for free! all the stewardesses were really nice and the plane was well kept. DELTA FTW!

Omg! My parents and I were going to Cancun, Mexico and we were flying Delta and one o the flight attendants over slept so we missed our connecting flight, lost our baggage, and didn't get to Mexico until 3 days later. However, Mexicana is AMAZING!

It's a shame when paying passengers are treated in such an undignified manner and thrown off a flight for such an immature reason. What's even more disturbing is that no other passenger who was nearby spoke up for this woman because of fear that they would also be thrown off the flight. This sort of immature action by the kids with shit stained underwear only happens on American and Canadian flights. No respect.

To start Charlotte is in North Carolina!!!! oh goodness. Former USAirways flight attendant here. You would be AMAZED at what passengers will do to the flight attendants. Harressment in ANY form is not tolerated between the in-flight crew and passengers. I myself had a few people removed from flights for cussing at me because they didnt want to stow their bags. When I did it there was no negotiating . I had them removed. The whole airline industry is a big mess and I GLADLY left last year.

we were coming back from texas and we missed our flight to charlotte because our other flight was late and we couldnt find the terminal when we were at dallas, so we ended up not going to charlotte and taking 2 extra flights home.

@ijustine super sorry to hear about us airways.. usually when a flight is delayed/cancelled/etc because of the airline (ie: not weather) you can get compensated with airline money/food vouchers, hotel, extra miles, etc. I wonder what happened to the women. I hope she complained!! That attendent was obviously out of line!!!

this is why i fly delta. the first time we flew with them, we checked our largest bag and used our smaller ones for carry ons to save money. the guy at the counter then decides to check the rest of our bags for free! all the stewardesses were really nice and the plane was well kept. DELTA FTW!

north carolina airports suck. I missed one of my flights cause a part was broken and it took 3 hours to figure it out and then the part has to be flown in from the place I had to go. Atlanta. GOD its sucked.
