  • Nice work mate, i like your style. 2 thumbs up:)

  • You didn't talk about alignment for the wheel and chain.

  • thanks man really detailed

  • It was very helpful you are doing a great job jay. Thanks

  • "I'm going to go ahead and"

    count: 15

  • you dont spin the wheel see if it is balanced?

  • I just got an FZ6 and I am surprised to see the recommended chain slack specs in the manual as 1.75-2.25 inches - sounds like a bit too much slack. Can this be right?

  • Great help man, thanks!!

  • i like to grease my axle lol

  • I set my spacers so the "ticks" were exactly the same on both sides but taking a step back you could clearly see the tire was pointed more to one side. I was told by a friend those marks are not exact, so how do I make sure the rear wheel is perfectly straight?

  • @arwsbrn measure the nut to nut distance on the adjuster and check its the same,if theyre the same and the ticks are the same but it still doesnt look straight id get it lazer tracked by a garage for peace of mind

  • i think id rather pay the shop the extra 40-50$ to do this for me.

  • great video. when replacing the chain, is it better to have the adjuster slightly more forward and take a link out of the chain (if there's not much more room to move the tire back) to compensate for the chain stretching in the future, thus allowing you to adjust it back as needed? thanks

  • Thanks dude!

  • great video! i wish i had seen this before i had to change out my rear wheel today. real helpful.

  • WHAT A DIRTY BIKE

  • Good job Jay. This helps tremendously!

  • i was doing this yesterday by myself it took for fucken ever to get the spacer on the brake caliper side i had to take the brake pads off then spacer in and just slip- the brake pad back on fucken bitch

  • yep yep

  • Vaseline is another good choice for greasing the axle.

  • Thanks Again..a video is so much more informative than looking at a lousy black & white service manual picture.

  • Very helpful, straight foward explanation

  • Great video guys. I'll remember Buymoto when it comes time to get a new tire.

  • great video' thanks 4 showing =D

  • very very helpful i changed ny back tire in no time!

  • thanks man! Its nice when people take the time to show how to do stuff with bikes without having to pay for it. Thanks Brother!

  • greasing your asshole dude that sounds kinky

  • Thanks but you need to find the tight spot of the chain and measure the slack at that point otherwise the adjustment could be out - or did I miss that

  • Great video, this was so much easyer to just copy and past this to my friends vs trying to type out how to do this.

  • thanks alot i change my zx12r tire by seeing this...love you

  • Another way to ensure that the the wheel stays in alignment is to adjust the left/right adjuster equally so if you turn say 1/4 of a turn out on the left u must do a 1/4 of a turn on the right so the wheel stays straight.

  • The only fault i could add to this video is that the markings are not allways right and i allways prefer to put a straight edge along from back to front wheel as alignment check.

  • Yeah, the stampings on the swingarm by the adjuster are never accurate. The best method is def. to measure and do equal lengths on either side.

  • FANTASTIC VIDEOS!! im in college studying motorcycle mechanics, these vids have helped me understand much more. thanks!

  • This is AWESOME. I am going to do my back tire for the first time soon and I have read much about the subject however I find seeing the process done is much more valuable than reading about it alone. I cant wait to see more of your videos. Thanks.

  • Thanks for spending the time to make this video, good basic info to know...

  • please make more videos!

  • Thankyou for taking the time of sharing your experience. Much appreciated, excellent video, very clear

  • I thought you adjust the chain relative to the riders weight, as the swing arm moves with suspension movement, hence if chain is too tight, snap crackle pop! When I sit on my bike the chain fairly tort, but how tight is too tight?

  • Are you supposed to adjust the chain tension with the bike on the ground or on the stand?

  • Chain Tension should always be adjusted on a stand or in a position where the rear wheel is not in contact with the ground. Thanks!

  • @buymoto Could I adjust the chain slack on center stand? You have the suspension loaded, but center stand would remove the load on the suspension.

  • cool.cant wait for the front! this is surely gonna be popular with all the forums.

  • thanks a lot easier to understand in a video

  • Good information.

  • Thanks for this video. I'm actually getting ready to do this tonight. I didn't know about the axle grease so I'm going to go pick up some on the way home.
