JUST MISSED!!! As stated above "May You Always" just missed making the Billboard's Top 10 chart; it peaked at No. 11 and spent a total of 16 weeks in the Top 100 in 1959, it entered the charts on Jan. 5th, 1959!!!
This one is always on my playlist for new years eve and on many other occasions...I think of my best friends and family whenever I hear it and especially one particular person.
My grandmother and mother both used to sing this to me as a lullaby. I remember it was one of my favorites. :) Never knew it was an actual song, so when I head it in my head its much softer and slower. More soothing.
one of the greatest songs ever, by one of the greatest groups ever, thry're actually praying for anyone who listens to this song, look at the riches they hope for the listeners. this is a very healthy song.
I sang this song in a "girls ensemble" when I was 14...I told myself that this would be a good lullaby for a baby I may have one day! Then when I was older, in college and driving a long road to school and back, I committed all the lyrics to memory!
I did indeed sing this song to my baby boy, toddler, and even my teenager!
He's a grown man today and perhaps he'll sing it to his someday.
"May You Always" lovers may be interested to know that this song is also Phyllis McGuire's favorite, as she confessed to Robin Leach on Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous a few years ago. I was a senior in high school when this song was popular and it became my favorite, too. That's when I started collecting McGuire Sisters records. I haven't tired of listening to them yet!
@jimmy1045 This was my mama's favorite song and I played it for everyone at her funeral last year. I was just playing it now for the first time so I can sing it to my grand babies... I am crying so hard right now. Thanks
Thanks so much for this lovely song and lyric. This is my favorite Mcguire Sisters' numbers of all time. I hope others love it as much as I do and appreciate your efforts.

Love this song. If I could only listen to one version however, I would listen to the Lennon sisters version.
