And some of the characters are slower than others to balance out the game. Character like Jin and Kazuya can deal lots of damage but have a lot of delay. Compared to Eddy who hits fast but has weak hits.

Reviews aren't just about making good gameplay, it's about making valid points about the game and giving an opinion based on how the game is played.

I did fair and my best isn't shown in this video. I'm well aware many people love the Tekken series and i'm not a pro at it or anything, but even though I dislike the game I can still own at it if necessary.

How is tekken 4 slow? If you're seen *GOOD* players like a Steve who knwos his stuff then you would see how fast this game really is. Go watch Evo2k3/2k4 matches of this game and you will see what I'm talking about. You can complain about many things in this game, but T4 is not slower than TTT.

And yes only 18 characters is worse than TTT's 30+ but I thorouhgly enjoyed using every character. People forget that Tekken 3 had about 18 characters too (and Tekken 2 had more!).

You sir are right. Also, I couldn't stop laughing at the parts of the Evo matches when the fights' were about to begin, the players would move around like crazy. And I do notice how the first 4 tekkens had only about 20 characters each game, but the good news was that the tradition was broken with Tekken 5 and so on.

Since you cant listen maybe you can read this: The reason I dont like it is because its too slow paced, not to mention Tekken in my opinion is a 3rd rate fighter.

I will not denie I lack some skill in the Tekken department and thats because I dont play this nor do I train to be a better fighter in this game. I would rather play a better fighting game such as Budokai, DOA, or Street Fighter.

Also, Violet is actually lethal if you know how to use him correctly and master him.

you mean the street fighter bs where you go against some overpowered boss that is difficult to defeat? Yes well unlike previous tekkens that had bosses (ogre, devil kazuya) those could be believably defeated, not some moron with more deus ex machinas than a street fighter boss.

If you're talking about Jinpachi, then I agree with the fact that he is rather cheap and spams the same moves. But I like challenging boss fights and I was also talking about devil Jin aswell because tekken 4 didn't even feature him in it as a playable fighter, it just teases you with cinematics.

I really did enjoy the change in pace with tekken. Though the characters looked more cartoony in this one, it was clear to see that tekken was trying to transition into a bit of realistic fighting hence the slower matches and not combo insane juggles. eg the only way you could launch someone was with a power uppercut on counterattack. This was the most realistic tekken but I personally wished they maintained this system. I think it was a good system

I agree. The system was good and they could've build on it, but they went back to flat ground and insane juggles, which I don't mind too much, but basically turned Tekken into a juggle fest. I liked phoenix smashing someone into a car, even though it doesn't dent it, and skyrocketing opponents into the ceiling *ouch*. Now, the new stages are pretty much a ring with walls. The only difference is the theme. Because most fans won't allow change, all Namco can do is add more juggle options.

Yes, I truely agree with you. I really loved the gameplay of tekken 4. And it is the most realistic of the series. It introduced wall hits, free movement before the fight starts, and new camara angles. I wish they would bring the style back, but I guess they just want to go back to basics with Tekken 5 and so on.

The games im not too familiar with is Tekken 1 and 2. I havent ever played Tekken 1 and I have only played Tekken 2 at a friends house and nothing more, so I dont know alot about it.

Tekken 3 and 4 I have, and 5 I have played, but dont own. Also I have the Tekken anime movie, which is pretty cool.

But your correct, I dont really follow the series that much, I only know the parts I have experienced in the games and the movie. =D
