  • I shall visit Xinjiang next year where this talented lady comes from. She is from Urumqi, the capital!

  • it would be much better if play it solo.

  • 就可惜旁邊配樂的太吵了.....

  • Her performance really touched me to the bottom of my heart !!!

  • 琴技一流!登峰造极!深情动人!百听不厌!

  • Beautiful music! Can someone please tell me names of the other Chinese instruments in the ensemble? My music students are curious!

  • @janeCate1 The banjo looking thing near the beginning is called a pipa. The thing at 0:28 is called a "se". The thing being hammered is called a yangqin.

  • @AzNeo

Thanks for the info. Now I can show it to my music classes fully informed!

  • @MelodicRockLover- Also forgot to mention that there was also a Guzheng near the beginning at 0:28 as well as a yueqin (aka moon guitar) on the far left at 2:17. The guy behind the lady with the moon guitar is playing a sheng.

  • Are those harmonics she's doing? I had no idea you could do that with an Erhu!

  • @xSunlightandShadowsx it's possible on every string instrument, if you know how :D

  • good.........!

  • Gives me chills and makes me tear up every time.

  • If I were to reborn, I would be an erhu player

  • Wow, when she played those high notes, I thought it was a bamboo flute...

  • wow when that erhu came on, i was like.0:

  • Shes my perfect woman. Virtuous in her art, full of heart, expression, impecable technique and a very very beautiful precious natural woman. I'll marry you flor de jazmín...

  • wonderful artist. enchanting, hauntingly beautiful woman.

  • @dirtoffmyshoulder1 It's just you, I've met fair young people (above the average) that like this type of music.

It's not a lot per se, but with surprising numbers.

  • I just can't get in my head howcome an instrument as thin and complex like that, can bring notes as noble and hearth-touching like these I'm listening to. Love asian culture, (just be better drivers LOL) your culture is precious.

  • love it

  • Compare this rendition to "Spring Scenery in South of Yangtze River" by Yu Hongmei (also on YouTube). This ensemble performance is tender and strong; but, Yu Hongmei's rendition is just sublime...soft and emotive beyond words.

  • i love the way that the ehru player move with her instrument

  • What is the Erhu-ist's name?

  • @CatGameDaiyE: Shao Lin

  • @stringphiler Oh great she'll be reeeeaalll easy to find wit that name!! (rolls his eyes)

  • beautiful

  • nice music!

  • Lovely sound

    BRAVO !

  • beautiful

  • What a beautiful instrument. Her arms move in beatiful floating motions and celestial music comes out :DD

  • 琴拉得很好,人长得一般。

  • in my view, ther ehru is probably the most beautiful instrument ever made. it looks and sounds beautiful. ive always wanted to learn it and this makes me want to learn even more

  • @CherryBlossom2571 Hi I'm Alkys from Greece.Iread this and Irecomend you to

take an erhu from the internet.

  • the erhu has stolen my heart once again :D

  • Anyone know any sad Erhu songs? Like dark songs (not evil, just sad), like past memories...you know?

  • this is soooo wonderful music!!! thanks for sharing!!

  • Wooow! That sounded great! What is the instrument at 0:28?

  • @Dante121892 Its a Zheng if im not mistaken

  • @Dante121892 The Ehru is the Bow + String instrument Westerners (Europeans and Americans) call this instrument the Chinese Violin

  • those are some cool instruments

  • WOW 她是偉大的 (she is Great)

  • such beauty

  • She plays

    so beautifully <33

    i hope to become

    good like her

  • Fantastic !

    10 *

  • Great performance. Love the sound of the Erhu, I can't wait until I get new sample libraries in January and I can include it in compositions.

  • Her erhu is music for the soul!

  • 這首曲子1:56那邊開始,旋律有點像天涯歌女。有沒有研究中國民謠的人能夠說一下這兩首曲子的關係呢?

  • Beautiful. that is the first piece of music inspired by spring that has actually conjured up images of fresh green rolling hills and streams and birds, no other music does that for me..:D going to find more!

  • is it a bit out of sync? anyway would someone please kinda explain what all the different instruments are :). cheers.

  • Wow, the lady in red with that instrument is so incredible

  • I Always feel relaxed when I listen to Erhu songs,, Its like your in heaven or letting your troubles fade away while your at ease ^^ Very beautiful song, Takes me back when It was In the Romance Of The Three Kingdoms in 200AD

  • @UrikoTheHalfBeast I used to play Dynasty Warriors all the time but haven't read that book yet, stopped playing video games almost entirely so I gotta get on that book!

    neautiful lady

  • Whoa! There's a chamber version of this song!!?? I've only played this song with a yang-qin (dulcimer)...

  • yeay dulcimer!!

  • Super and excellet interpretation,....wonderfull music for ever,...N1 * * * * *

  • I am deeply touched. Awesome! Heavenly! *_*

  • A few beautiful Chinese er-hu musicians have caught the hearts and imagination and fascination of quite a few million overseas Chinese men all over the world!!!

  • this is just stunning.

this takes me to a another world, a world which i picture to be so peaceful and serene.

  • The stringed instrutment is called a Hu-chin in pinyin correct? What are the characters for it though? Would like to listen to some more music played on this wonderful instrument.

  • but as the title says, it is called "er hu" in pinyin. character is 二胡

  • el sonido del erhu es precioso y muy relajante, me encanta

  • she's amazing !!!

  • Absolutely awesome! Very much enjoyed this talented young woman and her accompaniment. Audi

  • I really want some Chicken Lo Mein for some damn reason about now. J/K. Great music. It's very pretty.

  • very well done

  • wow, the similarities to bluegrass are both surprising (to me) and amazing

  • 二胡 is probably one of the most beautiful instruments in the world.

  • I agree! It's my favorite instrument to listen to..Its projects such strength and clarity..Even played alone, it can make any song overwhelmingly sad or happy. :D

  • @MannyKimchi: I agree with you!

  • @MannyKimchi: I agree with you!

  • @MannyKimchi

Yes, erhu is one of the most beautiful, expressive and most hard-to-learn instrument in the world. I am learning erhu. I will be happy if I can be 1/10 of what Shao Lin plays. Nothing easier in the world can be beautiful and expressive .

  • A Thousand Thanks !!

  • She is good. Is there note for violin?

  • thanks, erhu have a nice and noble sound, chinese culture its amazing

  • This is amazing to listen to, thanks.

  • As a Chinese and musician, I am very proud to see and hear such superior and non-equaled performance. This Chinese girl soloist is a Blessed Gift from the HeavenS.

  • i think she is pretty :)

  • She's not pretty by Erhu player standard. But her music is ... ahhh....superb!!! Absolutely out of this world.

  • Do erhu players have to be pretty?

  • NO~

  • But mostly they are :)

  • I thought she was pretty.

  • What are you talking about.... You trying to make yourself sound smart.... Theres no standard to erhu players... Thats ridiculous.

  • My comment is, it's beautiful music. Question: none or these erhu players show their teeth when they smile. Is this a cultural taboo?

  • Just traditional manner

  • In the old days it was not good form for a woman to show her teeth when smiling. That is why they hid their laugh behind their hands. On top of that it was not good form for a woman to laugh out loud in an un-lady like fashion. ....but that was in the very old days. Maybe when it comes to performing in situations like this they have to honor the more traditional aspects of performing etc etc etc.

  • Perhaps she had bad teeth?

  • Yu Hongmei smiles when playing and shows her teeth (watch 【风华国乐】 茉莉花 Jasmine Flower / 于红梅 赵聪 陈悦 吉炜 / 720HD 视频).

  • They are both great er-hu players; Yu hungmei is more intense and she does not really smile but smiles enough to say: "You like me and the music, right?"

  • I don't think she's arrogant like that to think like that.

  • You are absolutely right. She is not arrogant, which must be a wrong modifier for such tender lady. But she is "intense, heavy, noble and yet also tenderly artisitic". I like her to the extend of not sleeping well. Haha!

  • Beautiful

  • fantastic

  • j'adore cette instrument,pleins d'emotion!!

  • excellent style.

  • just wonderful

  • THis is good music but it is not completely my taste. but i still like it.

  • Excelentes músicos. El sonido del er hu siento que va más allá de los oídos para llegar al espíritu. Por ello la melancolía que produce escucharlo, ya que es un reencuentro con uno mismo, tal como lo manifiesta esta bella intérprete.

  • ghhuj

  • 哇!二胡泛音滑奏...邵琳和馬曉輝的演奏真是各有特色...都太棒了...感謝您這麼好的分享。

  • Wow!

  • Just out of curiosity, is that Yu Hongmei playing the erhu?

  • no. It's Shao Lin.

  • YES~

  • Another great music post by Bossa

    This is simply wonderful!

  • ilove it!sehr schoen!

  • Maravilhóóóóóóósa!

  • sublime.

  • Just beautiful......beautiful!!!
