Billy is so underappreciated--partly because it's too much to expect the jazz elite to find an intellectual, genteel person like him to be a soulful musician as well. Listen to him breathe as he solos (on yet another out-of-print album) on "Midnight Piano." No one plays deeper into the blues.

Billy Taylor's tunes "Night coming tenderly" ,"C.A.G","A bientot",we learned to play from music paper- jumbo jazz album-in Greece -we knew nothing about this man but I still have the photo copies among my 20 best prefered.and now comes in video after 30 years.This is a grate job, thank you.
