i respect the fact that SETI does look but think they should use more than 1 method of doing so. also colaborate with other ET seachers.... anyone know if Seth & DR. Greer have spoke and if so how that went?
Our search for Aliens are still based on the fact of Carbon based due to what we know from the Periodic Table, but yet, new elements are being discovered over the years. What more, in millions of stars out there that there can be elements undiscovered that could be the base element for their life existence.
I admire Dr Shostak. I first heard of him when New Scientist reviewed his book and since then i've followed SETI's weekly podcast that he cohosts with Molly Bentley. A very clever and interesting chap. He's one of those people that make science accesible to ordinary individuals.
@FreeThinkingAlbanian I author an astronomy blog, and have spoken with Dr. Shostak several times. He's a wonderful person; funny, intelligent, and very approachable, as you mention.
I'm guessing the real intelligence of the universe would hang out in completely virtual worlds of their own making that's hosted by intelligent machinery.
wow 1 trillion planets just in our galaxy and many many more in the other galaxy that we don't know, and yet we are the only life here on this gigantic space.I wish I was there to ask a fue questions, only a dummy doesn't know that theres life in other planets. They can come to Earth but we can't get to there planet.
there are no aliens. there are no proofs for these so called aliens. it's all in the creative and imaginative mind of man.
