Believing in something other than yourself is not being crazy. If you want tolerance then you must tolerate religions too. Science is a field of mainly unprooven theories, and even after they're prooven someone prooves them wrong later. Having a believe is not an ideal set to a specific time in history my friend. Time doesn't change people, it is people ho change the times. And just in case, I'm not a follower of the Christ god.

Science is not a belief, it is a methodology: what you take from, and how you use the findings is up to you.

If you ignore them, then you're far from pragmatic or realistic - two outlooks which yield the most use pretty much by definition.

They do it because they need it to keep them "sane". I used to go to catholic sunday mass every week but now that im an adult I see how messed up uniformed religion is. But some people need it.

@MutantKush I agree with you in that some people need structure, but religion is far too dangerous, divides too many and can easily be used for violent political gains.

We need to evolve the masses beyond fictional paradigms, and move them towards common human rights as guidelines. At the very least, we need to ensure free speech in our own borders, we can't have religious nutjobs killing people over cartoons.

Instead of worrying about all of the domestic issues, the politicians consistently take it upon themselves to waste valuable time constructing new laws that repel freedom.
