To let this pelican die without trying to help him is not the way to go. 99% of their injuries are man related.

Why didn't you help him? It was most likely a fishing line wrapped around its wing. An easy fix. To let it die of a man cause injury is not nature intended.

You are right. I was scared to go near it. I had 3 small children with me and I was a chicken. I was at my uncles house and they called DNR or something like that. Hopefully they came out and took care of it. I will find out from him and post another response. I feel worse now. I offered to just shoot it but no one would let me. I figured if I shot it at least something could make a meal of it with no fuss. I will let you know what I find out. Peace, Paymeami2
