I've heard good and not so good reviews or remarks on Kel-Tec products. I have a few buddies that have the P11 and some the little 380 and they swear by them. This shotgun tempts me though I have no use for it except I want one. That reasoning has usually been enough for me.
For all that are complaining about it not changing tubes automatically. It doesnt change because with the non-auto change it is legal in all 50 state. With an auto-change, it would be illegal in some states.
i have to say that kel tec is a unreliable firearms maker i bought a 40 cal auto pistol . took this weapon out to the range and shot 40 rounds and had three jams and two stove pipes and the sad thing is the weapon jammed on the second round of the first clip threw the system i sold the paper weight ASAP didnt get my money back out of it but i got rid of a pile of shit . and then there is the disassymebly of the weapon systems crap is all i care to say
Kel-Tec is most likely, IMHO, one of the poorest quality brands you could possibly buy...I LAUGH at the guy talking MILITARY...the military has NEVER tested or purchased a Kel-Tec branded product for combat use...it SUCKS and like most Kel-Tec's..it's UNRELIABLE!
@humbleranger what makes you say that its unreliable? I have been looking at their RFB rifle (assuming i can find one) id like to get it. i havent read anything that says they are unreliable guns... I would like to hear your reasoning behind saying they suck, because if it is really an unreliable gun ill just get an AR 15 or FAL
@spartan11717 1. if you search around, there is a bug with this gun that results in a non-fire. 2. Kel-Tec, although I give them an A+ for effort towards innovation, the execution always falls short...there just seems to be too much basement design in their weapons. Don't take my word for it, go to any Kel-Tec forum, any weapon and you'll see tons of "fixes" for each...just know that if you buy this, you're not getting a world class brand with world class quality control
I wish they would've discussed recoil and handling with that pistol grip. Also the accessibility of the safety and slug change overs. Oh well, I'm sure it's in other reviews on here but as a recent owner of a Mossberg 590 Mariner, I'm learning what to look out for with details on shotguns. This thing looks really impressive though!
@MesayBelay In the US Army special forces and infantry we use Mossberg 500A, Mossberg Maverick, and Mossberg persuader... Or the M1014 (Benelli). Never saw an 870 out there... I don't think the USMC use Remington either. Been there, done that. 22 months 3 weeks....
@departed402 Go big red! U live in omaha? I live in omaha. I go to the bullethole every other week to shoot my ACR but i really need to find an outdoor range. The range kinda blows.
@thethinking1 I thought you guys could have shotguns in the UK. Are pumps even outlawed? I know you can have single shot. Must be fun having no rights... After all, the police are only 30 minutes away if you ever need help...
@Plur307 you can have shotguns in the uk you just need the correct liscenses and certifiactes which can be a pain to get hold of. one of my friends owns a perfectly legal semi-auto one in england
I truly feel bad for you poor guys living in California. I'm sure it would be tough if you have ties, but I would get the hell out of that state; mainly because of the overbearing gun control, but also becuse of the way Cali is ran. BTW here in Nebraksa we have the lowest state debt per capita in the nation. Find yourself a good red state to live in, and I don't mean Commie Red!
@thedoubledeus Lol, I agree with you. However, they did respond to tell me that it is legal in CA. Things are so messed up here that gun stores will not sell certain guns that other stores are selling because they are in disagreement as to which guns are actually legal. I can't get a Saiga 12 guage where I live but if I go an hour north there is a store that will sell me one.
@TacticalSoleSurvivor it is legal in CA. If you check the CA DOJ website shotguns are only illegal if they are semi auto and have BOTH of the following characteristics: 1) a telescoping or folding stock AND 2) a pistol grip on the action, thumbhole stock, or vertical handgrip. It's not semi auto and only has one of those characteristics, two if you have a handgrip on the action but since its not semiauto it doesn't matter. Its illegal if its semiauto and has a detachable magazine or...
@mattman1138 Thanks for your information. Do you have one of these? Anyway, I going to have to get one of these before CA makes anymore laws to ban it. The sticking point is the 14+1 round capacity, because CA wants all guns to be 10 or under. I guess you could say that it is 2 seven round magazines. It isn't easy living in CA!
ok what happens if the 3in shells explode in the wepon when you aiming you face gets melted off? the bore is right were your face would be. how safe are these
@123Macabee no unless you put a plug in it for example hunting squirrels in Kentucky the limit is 3+1 (3 in the mag 1 in the chamber) this weapon can be a muti game gun for example in one mag u can have bird shot for birds (duh) and in the other you can have buckshot or slugs for those pesky coyotes.
Can you make it alternate the tube it feeds out of like on the neostead? I wonder about the lack of symmetry in weight when one tube is empty and the other has seven shells.
How's the cheek weld when you put a red dot sight on it?
@MrSMILEY169 Yeah, but instead of shooting seven shells and switching the tube, I want their to be a function to alternate the tubes it feeds from automatically so that I can keep a more balanced weapon. I haven't handled it, but I'm willing to bet that when one tube is fully loaded and the other is empty, you'll notice a certain awkwardness to the ksg when you pick it up.
Why is Kel-Tec SO badass? Being a Floridian and former Federal Agent, whose a little out-of-pocket in Arizona for now, I can say I'm pretty impressed by all the products they've put out and proud they're a Florida business.
Isn't this exactly like the NeoStead 2000? Maybe a little more on the whiz-bang side of things with the rails and everything but the NeoStead design has been around for about 10 years give or take.
I think a bullpup pump action shotgun with duel tubular magazines is a very cool and innovative design. I checked and it is legal to own it in Canada because the barrels are 470mm and I would love to get one, because it was said to be a police or self defence shotgun, I think it would be great with a hollow sight on the cantilever. I also read that it is chambered for 12 gauge shells. How dependable and easy to clean is it?
I hope some psycho idiot doesn't go on a shooting rampage with this thing and ends up getting it banned.... especially before I can get my mitts on one!
@voodazz yeah ban it AFTER we get ours so if you criminals try to take it away from us citing some illegal made up law we can say "Take it from our cold dead hands bitch" POW POW POW!!
thats 275 shots of .22, you get the full velocity from a rifle length barrel and no kick or control issues... i'd use CCI stingers... if you are a good shot you could take out 150 zombies easy before reloading! romero ones anyway... FAST ZOMBIES SUCK! - 12 GAUGE is overkill for stupid slow zombies... buy hey, if you want to see more meat fly and get the job done in one shot, you can't do better - maybe double barrel if you want to see his head explode...
@argonzeit Well, really it depends on where they are and your ammunition your using. If they are within 100 yards, really anything will drop them. If they're beyond that, slugs work well with a Red Dot. If they are closer than say...30, 35 yards, well once again anything will drop them. My personal preference would be the Dragons Breath shells. Look them up if you don't know what they are, but essentially incendiary shotgun shells that send a giant fireball out of the muzzle of your barrel.
@Treembea Strange that you would recommend dragons breath to kill anything.... It's a signal round. It would burn the hell out of your target, but probably wouldn't end with a kill. I haven't shot it in real life, so I wouldn't know for real, but I bet zombies would just turn into a running flame that would continue coming at you...
@ashinms Well. maybe not an instant kill, and while I don't know how hot it burns, it is essentially a close range flamethrower, and it would burn through the flesh and muscle and if it doesn't kill, it would severely cripple. But with a solid shot, it could burn into the stomach or chest cavity and torch anything vital. But I mean, seriously, who doesn't want a giant fireball coming out of the end of their shotgun?
@ashinms While I agree that dragon's breath wouldn't kill immediately I think the burns it would produce could end up being fatal. Burns are notorious for getting infected. That's what usually kills burn victims. But there really isn't a point in shooting somebody hoping to kill them 2 weeks later... I've seen a video of a dummy wearing normal clothes being shot with dragons breath and the t-shirt caught fire and erupted into flames pretty quickly. It would be nasty to get shot with.
@Plur307@Plur307 FPSRussia. I saw that video, pretty nice, though not the first time I was exposed to the round... I think, used correctly, this could be an awesome weapon against real live people, psycologically, at least. Seeing burn victims in combat can be more damaging psycologically than actually being shot. It stinks, and the person is in horrific pain- screaming and flopping around... But no- not an anti-zombie weapon.
someone pinch me, i think i'm dreaming....that is a shit load of fire power....i want one to keep next to my bed because with 14+1 of 00 buck it's just begging to kill some folks.
Wow 2 magazine tubes on a pump shotgun And in a bullpup configuration.....IF it could (cycle, chamber, & fire 3 1/2'' rounds) had about (4 more inches of barrel) And had the (barrel threading to accept standard choke tubes) than this would be a Day 1 purchase for me. I would put a forward grip on it and duracoat a camo finish on it and it would be the most versatile multi-animal hunting weapon ever! Regardless of wether the animals are in the sky, in the trees, are on the ground!
@762hillboy Actually its pretty innovative. It's pretty sick. I think it has a big advantage over most shotguns. And pump action will always be more reliable than a semi auto
@SPAZZ134 i think the bull pup design is shit it fails all u.s army test...two 7rnd tubes that sooner or later will fail they have made a complex joke of a gun...it does look cool so dose an ab10 but when you get youre hands on one its shit...kel-tec is really hung up on a flaw of a design...i like youre channel name a spazz is also a complex shot gun...and kel-tec ask for way to much money for what you get they can do better if they try.
@762hillboy It seems you don't really like the modern look. Bull pup designs are really good. I currently just received my Tavor Tar-21 and I must say I think its better than an AR. Kel-Tec makes a really nice bull pup .308 rifle that I really like. I trust the bull pup design, though I must say the reach of pull is a bit long and the reload is a bit of a hassle after you get used to an AR or whatever.
@csuhdraven It's a 7+7+1, so it's doesn't technically have a greater than 10 round magazine. You do have to manually switch it over. A technicality, but perhaps enough. Like a bullet button on an AR. God California blows...
I've heard good and not so good reviews or remarks on Kel-Tec products. I have a few buddies that have the P11 and some the little 380 and they swear by them. This shotgun tempts me though I have no use for it except I want one. That reasoning has usually been enough for me.

what a stupid gun...not if it fails but when.

@SPAZZ134 how about shooting around corners? all of what you have said is true.

Puleeze tell me they're making a 10 rounder for us poor bastards living in socialist states.
csuhdraven 1 year ago
@csuhdraven It's a 7+7+1, so it's doesn't technically have a greater than 10 round magazine. You do have to manually switch it over. A technicality, but perhaps enough. Like a bullet button on an AR. God California blows...

@csuhdraven its california legal

@BestTits Good deal! Thanks for the info.

I know I'm buying one. $880 sounds fair to me if the reviews and reliability look good.

Well I was hot for this thing until the salesman said that the only way to use 3 inch rounds was to manually load each round individually.

Too bad the Neostead couldn't make it into the US to get the credit it truly deserves.
