  • So many trumpet fails :{ like when he thought it ended around 2:30 lol. But still an incredibly high song, and it still sounded great

  • just watch the security in this video. Almost as entertaining as the music. :D

  • I watched the bassist the whole time.. Fucking amazing.(So is the rest of the band)

  • lol the poor security guy :)

  • Oh geez, listen to that Bass line...so sexy!!!!

  • This band. Is why I was able to learn tenor sax on five days.

  • im gonna see these guys this thursday i cant fuckin wait haha

  • I wonder if they will ever play in germany again :(

  • who??

  • i heard mike soprano came back to streetlight :D

  • does anyone know what kind of kit chris thatcher plays? i love it its pretty

  • @percussionwithfire Its a Dark Horse Percussion Kit

  • Sick bass line

  • lmfao 2:20 jack black ?

  • colud be jack black!! it's seems very much i think!! and jack black it's a dick head!! :D:D:D

  • god i cannot fucking wait... seeing them october 3rd.

  • LOL the security does REALLY suck ahah

  • Jim Conti ended up having to get surgery on his mouth when a fan jumped up on stage and knocked his saxophone into his gums, so if I was him, I'd be glad security was like that, lol.

  • I read it was during a car accident.. doesn't really matter tho, I guess. still sucked for him.

  • I was there, Hi Blake :)

  • HI charlie!!!!!!! :D

  • I think all bands should have a horn section.

  • Problem with that is none could match the talent-level of these 4. These 4 are like the modern day Miles Davis at their respective instrument.

  • phukkin awesome

  • this is nothing compared to when streetlight comes to Gainesville!

  • Awesome song, hope they come to winnipeg someday.

Anyone notice all the struggling between the fans and the security? rofl

  • Man, they will come to Brazil and ill see they alive. Like a dream come truth

  • its only real if they could just convince me.....fucking tune

  • long shorts/short pants seem to be tomas's favorite thing in the entire world haha =]

  • And that hat and sweat band :D

  • lol.. that made me laugh xD

  • lmao that's my friend jumping on stage with the venom mask on.

  • Lawl - I thought he was Gene Simmons from KISS hahaha, JK...

  • this was the most dead crowd ever ! Mother fucker I was there 2 and it was the weakest streetlight show ever

  • Seriously. I can't even sit still when I listen to this band. I don't know how it's physically possible for someone to see a band with this much power live!

  • Yeah they are. dude when they came to cleveland people were throwing fists and we had like a hardcore pit. they play amazing live anyway

  • wow that crowd is dead

  • no they were far from dead my friend....I was their

  • hahahahah, trumpeter thought it was the end of the song at 2:29

  • well spotted

  • looking for dan ross .. .

    the new lineup ..nya...

  • i like how the guy goes up on stage! at 2:20

  • their berry saxist is awesome

  • Ya I got to meet him last week in toronto :).

It was coat check after the show and we go tin the line really late and there was like no one left and mike brown (the bari saxist) and the alto sax player were there and we talked for like 15 minutes, he's such a chill guy :).

I also like how when the guy went on stage, the trumpet player got confused and played the ending by accident, but he's so good anyways :P.

    Streetlight FTW

  • I can't find any HIGH-QUALITY live recordings other than one where there was little bass (equipment malfunction). I'm not bashing this, I just can't find one as high quality as RBF or LTJ or Goldfinger has...I did know, though, that Streetlight didn't allow cameras up until only a few months ago so maybe things will change.

  • Well, the bands you mentioned are a lot bigger and have been around a lot longer than Streetlight, give it a little time. Who knows, maybe someday they'll release a live album, with professional quality recordings.

  • When You think about it , the best part of Streetlight is their ''Low quality'' Sound Stuff! This is one of the hundreds of things cool about them! Compared to other More Media covered artist groups

  • seeing them this friday

    shdkjsdf:DD

  • great sound quality

  • i have a few things to say?

    1. why the fuck is tom so awesome!??!

    2. FEB 6TH 2009 STREETLIGHT COMING BACK TO THE CULTURE ROOM!!!!

  • YEAH! I'm going to that show! I missed them last year b/c their show was on a monday but I just can't wait one more month!

    :)

  • they're in cologne next year.. ill skank the shit outta the room!

  • why is he getting down? Hes just saying that he is going to dance like crazy (skanking is the dance for ska)

SO HELL YEAH MAN SKANK THE SHIT out of the concert!

  • hahaha jealously

    no just kidding

maybe they just dont like me =/

    like i would care haha

  • the trumpoet misses the first high E. but matters. that is an awkward 6 notes to play.

  • Trumpeter looks like he was having some problems with his instrument.

  • haha, it's pretty much never the instrument. maybe his chops were shot from playing so much already.

  • haha or he could be drunk

streetlioghts played a few drunk concerts

or atleast some of the members were

  • lmfao. that's amazing.

  • I would like to disagree about it pretty much never being an instrument. My Trombone got hit by a color guard flag, and I'll tell ya, it is pretty damn hard to play a trombone who's slide doesn't go up to 1st or 2nd postiton.

  • aren't there alternate slide positions?

  • well yea, but why would a professional band like Streetlight only have one trombone or trumpet to use and use a broken one for a concert?

  • because they want to?

  • ok...doesnt make much sense.

  • For the lower octaves and not for every note. Just like there isn't an alternative for every note on the trumpet. I play both

  • @Massacre430 You can't play every note on one position, though. Coughcough1yearlatercoughcough.

  • You clearly don't know much about that instrument. I play all the brass instruments, and am majoring on the trumpet in college. He plays extremely high for a long period of time every show, and this song is no exception. Lots of Es which are the ones he mostly misses. It's high, it's a hard note, chops are probably dead from playing, it's live, stages are hot... A lot of factors and I bet one or more of them are the culprit

  • Well excuse me, I don't do either of those things. Shaking the instrument/fiddling with the valves made me think equipment problems. Maybe that's just a guitarist's narrow-mindedness. Didn't mean to offend your instrument though, I respect that trumpet takes alot of facial strength to play (I actually tried to learn for a summer)

  • Didn't mean to sound so aggressive, sorry.

  • @nodachislayer It doesn't really take a whole lot of facial strength if you're doing it right. Really, you should be trying keep your face from straining as much as possible. Most of the muscular work is done with the muscles in your stomach area. I'm actually a clarinetist/saxophonist, but i can play trumpet (not extremely well, but decently) and can play higher easier than most of the kids in my band class simply because i don't try to smash the trumpet into my face to get high notes out.

  • he was shit faced :D

  • chris thatcher = god

  • ahh I was supposed to go to this show!

    I bet they rocked tho.

    : (

  • great job.

  • when you think of tomas whats the first thing that comes to mind

    prodigy?

  • perfectionist

it takes waaaaaaayyyyyy too long for him to come out with records

  • it does take awhile

but that means he takes time to make them better

i'd rather have it that way, wouldn't you?

instead of some thats less then amazing

  • Yeah he's quite amazing at music....I mean not just in the meaning, in the sound, in every single aspect of every single Streetlight song is absolutely perfect, I HAVE NEVER seen a band like that.

Where EVERY song was perfect for the way it was intended. He is a prodigy.

  • that couldn't be anymore true

  • i would say amazing lyricist, but also ego. he knows he's good (i wouldn't say prodigy) but in central jersey you hear that he's full of himself...several times i've heard this from family members of his bandmates. no knock on his music, its great, but i will think ego...maybe it came to him when he moved to cali.

a word for his bandmates though: class

everytime i've met them they have been the most friendly people ever. when they dont tour, they teach music and run school bands...classy guys

  • yes they are

and i take it your from jersy so i wouldn't hear about the ego stuff ebing from wisco

the time i met him he seemed nice but i'm guessing every musicain is nice to fans

and yes they are classy people

  • he is a god

  • yes he is

i never belived in god till i was introduced to his music

  • nvm

  • where was this?

  • The drums are too loud, the guitar's too quiet.

    But it still sounds good.

  • what's the name of the Bari sax player now, that isn't Dan Ross still is it?

  • Lol 1:31, bottom left corner, Gene Simmons.

  • They are playing in October at the Key Club in LA!

  • its a corvette i think but it has a mm style pick up and then a jazz closer to the neck

  • its a warwick fna jazzman

  • 10/10/08. Coming to the good old CP.

  • isn't that the trumpet player from RBF?

  • nah dude thats isnt danny or johnny

  • wish they come to brazil. But that will never happen.......

    fuck

  • streetlight in brazil... that would be awesome

    but it is impossible :(

  • i can't wait until they start playing shows again in October!!!

  • what are the odds of them playing LA on my birthday? like three years ago catch 22 had a show on my b-day too. omg i'm a lucky devil.

  • i was standing right where you are when they came to the culture room in april

    it was pretty friken amazing

  • Best spot in the whole venue. There is no debating that.

  • yah, only part that sucks is that your not getting pushed around, which i kind of missed

halfway thru the show i left so i could crowdsurf and skank down a little

  • do you get kicked out for crowd surfing to the front? i've never been to a show where you do

  • God DAMMIT INEED TO SEE THEM.

  • i saw these guys not to long ago and they were amazing....every band member is so good at their instrument its crazy...best ska band in my opinon

  • yo i was there, the date is wrong man, it was nov 23, not nov 3. i jst check the ticket, yeah i still have it xD. that was possibly the best night of my life.

  • Was Matt Stewart having an off-night or does he just suck? I haven't gotten the chance to see them live since Delano left...

  • hes better than this usually he was pretty drunk.

Ive seen him 4 times it was an off night for him but he wasnt half bad even in this state

  • hes really good, i met him and his parents at their show in Richmond,VA he's amazing usually

  • Oh shit, I see myself.

  • ahah me too!

  • hey anyone know what kind of guitar tomas plays?

  • gibson es-335

  • sometimes he plays ibanez artcores, but not anymor really

  • Lol whats up with matt at 2.29 ish?

  • jeez how many people got busted at that place

  • none, a lot of people lost shoes though. ha ha ha!!!!!

Suburban Legends really got the crowd pumped up for Streetlight Manifesto.

  • I WAS THERE! you can kinda see me, i was right near thomas, i coulden't dance because i fucked up my wrist earlier that day skating.

  • лучшее ска в мире!!!

    best ska around the world!!!

  • That drummer is amazing. It's the same guy from "E.W.Numb", right?

  • yeah, its been the brass section thats been having all the change ups in the band for the most part.

  • Actually, Chris Thatcher wasn't the same drummer on EWN. He played in the remake of Keasbey though. I'm pretty sure.

  • Chris Thatcher did, indeed, play drums on the Keasbey remake.

  • On that same topic, is the Bone player the same from Somewhere in Between?

  • This whole band is the same line up from SWITB

  • Yes Mike Soprano

  • No. Thatcher joined for the Keasbey remake. I can't remember the old drummer's name.

  • Stuart Karmatz or something like that

  • have you ever realized that tons of ska bands are lining up in the front now so its not just the singer on the spot... it feels like a better show thatway seeing them togeather instead of a frontman and a bunch of musicans behing him... What do you think?

  • best ska band

  • I love this band! The brass sounds a little more Havana than ska which makes it more interesting. This is just great music.

  • My 8 year old's favourite song off one of the best albums this 37 years old punk dad has ever heard. Appropriate that Sonic Boom Six are toruing with them later this month, as The Ruff Guide To Genre Terrorism is an even better album that Somewhere In The Between.

  • anybody notice the guy with the spiderman mask or something?

  • Isn't that spawn ?

  • fucking security...fuck off!

security at punk shows piss me off so much!

    "Get off the stage!"

    pft, fuck off!

  • even if it is a punk show speaking as someone who owns a bari sax i don't want to risk anybody running into or possibly breaking an instrument that costs a few thousand dollars. it would be even worse for these guys because they're on tour and a repairman who can fix a bari in a matter of a day or two is not an easy thing to come by.

  • Yeah.

But I'm pretty sure just about all the members of the band went to college for some kind of music, so I'm sure ONE of them knows how to fix a sax...

  • or they have enough money to buy a replacement

  • You say "fix a sax" as if its a simple thing. LOL. Do you have any idea how easily a sax is messed up? If, say, one of those people were to run up on stage and his arm accidentally knocked the bari out of Mike's hands, a lot of times the damage from the fall could be nearly impossible to fix without a SERIOUS TOTAL repair overhaul. Saxes are very easily damaged, but not easily fixed. Not at all easily fixed. My poor marching Alto... :'(

  • Oh I know they're terribly easy to destroy.

But I'm just sayin', there's probably enough collective knowledge between them to get it working again.

  • Lol no. I have 7 years of experience playing saxes, and I'm often asked by my band director to fix minor problems with the other students' saxes. Minor is stuff is pretty straightforward; someone crashing into it and possibly knocking it onto the ground could take weeks for a professional with professional equipment to fix. It could be damaged permanently. Would you really want that happening to YOUR sax? I sure wouldnt.

  • Well, think about it this way: If you break something and then run off the stage, the concert's potentially sunk, security is going to have a hard time catching you, and they need to get that fixed before any more shows can be played. Going on stage benefits nobody but the band.

  • culture room still hasn't fixed that problem. I don't like this venue very much and I'm speaking to the south florida crowd when I say that the Mojo Room in Port St.Lucie is pretty damn good.

  • lol Matt screws up a few times. Sick video though, a lot better quality than some of the other ones of this song...

    Thanks!

  • Yeah, I dunno what Matt was doing around 2:28.

He just sorta squeaks there for no reason.

  • i was right next to him for the whole show and he looked a little buzzed to me. He was really into the show, but he was definitly buzzed

  • this is the best bank ever!

  • yea i love this bank ..... dumbass

  • Tomas Kalnoky is a fucking God.

  • AGREED!

  • fuckin' a

  • Good job man...... come check out mine!!!
