Yes that's true, those tiny holes are there to cool the Blades only,i help design those Blades:HPT,LPT + High & LPC Blades and the Stators, yes they are very very precise indeed, but they must be or the engine would not run as it should. :-)
you have a beautifull collection!! i'm collecting too jet engine blades and i'm wondering where you found some of yours, expecially the HPT blades and the awesome piece at 1:10
I once worked for a company that manufactured nozzle-guide-vanes for jet engines etc..you would not believe the precision and technology that goes into this, those Rolls Royce jets have thousands of man hours in them. Testing, the metals used are critical,
Most strange video ever.

1:25 ... is that a void on the middle blade leading edge and above the fir tree on the left blade?

I inspect those NGVs for Trent 500, 700, 800 and 535E4 for NDT. Not even a single crack were allowed for release to service!

I think this holes also prevent boundary layer deattaching.

They do,but mostly for cooling, they are posistioned in such a way as to accomplish both. :-)

the holes in the blades inject fuel?
tkktkt 3 years ago
No, they are there for cooling air to flow through so that the blades and vanes do not melt in the extreme heat
