Marx wrote the communist manifesto which as he suggested, a precursor to socialism. Marx advanced the notion that socialism was a bridge between Capitalism and Communism. It is a stepping stone.

Actually, comparing the fatality rates in Iraq (that is in the middle of a war), with the fatality rates of Chicago, is not apples to apples. However, it does illustrate that Obama's rhetoric is overblown. His own home town is more dangerous than a war zone. That was the point. Sorry you missed it.

I have a good Venezuelan friend who immigrated here legally about 4 years ago. He told me a story of what his family is going through.

His father worked 12 hours a day, 6 days a week his entire life striving to make life for his family better. His hard work allowed him to accumulate 6 rental properties which granted him a decent income when he retired.

Chavez just confiscated all 6 of them and gave them to the "poor". Why? He was greedy.

Obama has a track record of eroding the constitution. His support for bans on handguns in Chicago and Washington DC, which both incidentally had a higher fatality rate than we had in the whole country of Iraq last year, is proof. If anything, he should support arming law-abiding citizens to the teeth so they can protect themselves since the government has failed to do that on all levels.
