I got the yellow light a few days ago.

I was playing Mortal Kombat 9 (2011) doing the fight ladder as Scorpion. Fighting Shao Kahn, I threw Scorpion's chain spear (His famous "C'MERE!" quote plays), and RIGHT before it hit Shao Kahn, literally a NANO second before it hit him, the game froze and the yellow light flashes. I was all "Oh FUCK! NO!"

I reset the system, and it worked properly again. I swear I shat bricks when it happened.

The large PS3 has a higher failure rate than the slim one (reference to my previous post) if you want proof just google "10% chance of yellow light of death" and you'll get tons of sites stating that the failure rate is around 10%. By this we mean the chance that the PS3 will actually ever see a yellow light of death.. ever.

That's wrong it's 10% death chance for the playstation 3 and 23% chance of death for the XBOX 360. and like 2.7% chance of death for the wii. It seems the lighter the console (XBOX 360 I believe is the best for raw gaming power) the less chance of death. The 360 has more bulk than the PS3, and the wii has the lowest bulk out of them all. Can someone tell me the light of death for the wii? what color is it?

For those of you who have this problem, If your disk is still stuck inside your YLOD ps3 Turn off the main power switch (the switch on the back.) then press and hold on to the eject button then turn back on the power and keep holding the eject button until you hear a vaccum sound coming out of you ps3 then let go and wait for the ps3 to eject the stuck disc.

It happened to me about 2 yrs ago. Nintendo fixed it already though. But more to the point, the PS3 Slim and X360 slim have a very low failure rate.The PS3 Slim is about 0.3% and the X360 Slim is about 5%.That means that that the X360 went down about 15% and the PS3 about 0.2%.There is a problem.Your just uneducated.
