@chitterzz Honey, I saw the NY Dolls in NYC. /clubs were not so strict with id's back then.Heck, you could party in Washington Square Park w/out problems from the cops. All I know is that in NY, glam existed in the 70's, like I mentioned NY Dolls. In the 80's, there were many "pretty boy" bands that many called "glam rock" that "fed" of heavy metal that really sucked. NY Dolls were awesome! Poison, what some called "glam" sucked!

Wahlber looks a lot like Myles Kennedy in this scene, funny thing is Kennedy appeared in this film before joining Alter Bridge as the one who joined Izzy on stage.

I also like the fact that they allude to the end of 80s heavy metal and the start of 90s grunge, the fact that they made Chris' band start to Seattle is also a refrence to where grunge music started

Not sure where the Miljenko Matijevic singing Colorful came from. It is a Verve Pipe song written probably by Brian VanderArk. I could research and copy pasta but I live in West Michigan and have been listening to Mr. VanderArk's music since he played in small bars. I'm pretty confident the track here is his voice. His voice is rather unmistakable. I could be wrong though.

Without a doubt, this is Brian VanderArk singing. I have been listening to him/Verve Pipe for, gosh, 15 years now. Way back when they were just another band in Grand Rapids. Sad they faded away. Brian is easily one of the best singer/songwriters around today. His lyrics are genius.

Just watched the director's commentary: Mark Wahlberg can be found singing at the beginning of the audition for Steel Dragon - but that's it. Another singer is overdubbed when he starts singing the higher, louder notes.

Wahlberg does NONE of the singing in this movie or for the soundtrack. The singing is done by Miljenko Matijevic of Steeherat and Jeff Scott Soto, who sang with metal groups and even Journey at one point. No coincidence that you've never heard Markie Mark sing like this before or after this movie.

Actually,Zakk Wylde wrote all of the Steel Dragon material and he even starred as the rythem guitarist. As for the singing, I believe it is Steel Heart's vocalist. But it was a nice twist for the first 4 years everyone believing it was Whalberg singing, he's a good actor.
