  • "Slap" hook vs. "roll" hook? It is thedifference between the Clubface Angle and Clubhead Path at maximum compression during impact that determines the axis tilt of the ball's flight. It doesn't matter whether the Clubface rolled into that alignment or not.

  • Jim Hardy is a great teacher, but I'm not so sure about some of the assumptions he made are entirely accurate in this video. Saying all tour pros hit inside pulls is misleading at best (trackman data suggests 1/3 of tour pros have outside-in swing paths) and gear effect is a big reason balls go left of the target as well.

  • The reason there is confusion over this with some commentators is because of the new ball flight laws as determined by Trackman etc-a relatively new finding. 85% of the initial direction of the ball is determined by the clubface direction (15% is determined by path). This is why you can come from severely inside and yet the ball can start out to the left of target (and visa versa).

  • @Tourswing Interesting. Do you have documentation on that?

  • @peejay3 Start at Trackman.dk-got some interesting stuff on there anyway. Dr Gary Wiren was the guy that came up with the original laws (now disproved) so maybe do a Google search based around that. Cheers.
