i just bought this game for 5 bucks, sooo you get what you paid for, a mediocre game,i was fairly entertained,this is what i think this game needs to be at least average

#1fixed camera angle

#2weapons,combos and magic upgrades(cause the weapons on this game never feel strong)

#3block and evade button(cause the system use on this game make the game slower than it is, because you need to wait for the enemies to attack for you to counter attack them and inflict them real damage)

#4more enemies

Games looks terribly basic and I had absolutely no interest in it but I now see it going for less than 5 bucks. I don't know why I am considering picking it up considering all the great Fantasy hack an slash about to be released this year, but I'm tempted. One thing I have to say, the graphics may not be that good but I LIKE the Conan inspired art style. I hate how Fantasy art these days has that effeminate Korean/Japanese influence, give me Frazetta or Vallejo ANY DAY over that crap.

I just love the part when you finally complete the Golden Axe, you get to play with it and the ennemies just EXPLODE when they come too close.

Got it in the bargain bin for 10 so not too pissed. The block system is actually interesting until your surrounded and it stops working but wtf is the money for? I may not be far enough in but seriously all I've seen in extra swords in challenge mode for MILLIONS! You get maybe 10 bucks a fight.

It seems as though this was rushed...I think thats why alot of developers are reluctant to try to bring back classics on the latest generation of consoles. I would LOVE to be able to play mutant league hockey or football as a new release on my 360!! that would own! unless ofcourse they screwed it up...then I would be pissed. Anyway, Beast Rider is a game for hardcore fans of the original series. If you didnt grow up a Golden Axe fan, you should probably pass on this one.

Also, I owned Sega Saturn (and LOVED it by the way) and was a huge Nights fan. One of the best games ever released for the system. So, when I heard it was coming out for Wii, I was very excited to play it. Well, the graphics were improved from the original..but thats it. In order to play Nights effectively, you HAVE to be able to control her movement. So much so that Sega actually made a controller specifically for playing the game. Long story short, Wii controls are shit! and it kills gameplay!

I thought it was an ok game, actually theres like some of the levels which are like impossibly hard and because the checkpoints are like 4 hours apart you end up going over and over and over bits. One of the later levels therse this graveyard and its huge and you come to the end and theres a fairy which is like impossible to beat and then you have to start ALL over again. A save feature would be nice and a guide to killing invincible fairies.

i think ur missing the point with beastrider u want it to be more complex, but thats not what they were going for. Think of beastrider as sort of an omage to the original golden axe u get 1 attack and 1 spell now u get 5 and its the same gameplay just in 3d.

I picked it up for £9 last week , it's nothing special , but I do kinda enjoy it.

The game is old fashioned + linear, the combat is mainly about countering + using the beasts.

The Gorilla is the best cos it can pick up the other beasts + tear 'em in two! The last boss is pretty good also.

You can level up- more tribute points unlock more powerful weapons + you can upgrade spells by finding special tokens. It's worth a look if you like hack&slash games + can find it cheap. 6/10 IMO

I rented this game a few days ago for 3 bucks and I just beat the game yyesterday and I thought it was pretty cool myself. Yeah I know the magic is limited and there is no leveling up. I know the graphics may not have been up to par but I actully enjoyed it this way. And I didnt think all the monsters were the same some were but near the end there are different harder monsters. I thought the combat was very classic and not too complicated to get. I give this game a 6/10
