hey that transmission looks the same as the one in my 03 mustang gt....y is it like all small??? i remember my 94 V6 was like in the middle and it was bigger.
fifth to neutral it still grinds even if i have to cluth in. Fifth gear just seems to set things off and start problems. This never happened before the mgw please help. Thanks
hey i could really use your help. I just installed an mgw on my tr 3650 and filled the tranny with two and a half bottles of castrol mercon v. The problem is I forgot to take off the fill plug while putting it in through the shifter. The drain plug also had a really tough time going back on and doesnt sit flush like it did when i took it off but im afraid to crank it any harder. My car now feels and sounds like its grinding in fifth gear when i am below 2000 rpms. Then even after i put it from
ALWAYS loosen the fill plug FIRST. If you already loosened the drain plug and found out later that the fill plug is stuck after draining the tranny fluid, then you're pretty much screwed.
@RustyXIII Why would that be ? If you know the proper amount to refill the trans. There's no problem for refilling the transmission. He said it would take 3 & 1/4 quarts to fill. Again no problem. Yes the fill plug is still stuck. But that should hinder refilling in the lest bit. It will come lose even if stuck with a little work. Best. yl
oh come on dude i could do a fluid change on a 10 speed maxitorque on a mack truck in half the time it took me to watch this video and it takes 5 gallons to that transmission
toyota dealer, service manager, told me not to use RP trans in my toyota. he is full of shit or what. please give me an honest answer, meaning only reply if you have it in YOUR car, and have had it awhile, not since last week.
@hemet92544 Hello! Ok, here is my honest answer to your question... I have used Royal Purple products in my cars for a few years now. I use Royal Purple in my engine, trans, an rear differential. I have had no problems with using it. It works great. Thanks for watching!
@hemet92544 Royal Purple is used in high performance cars and very popular in NASCAR. It's very expensive compared to other transmission fluids but it performs better than any other. I would recommend using it for better shifts.
No. This video is only good for the Tremec T45 (and maybe a few others).... You should check your owners manual for fluid amount specifications. You do not want to overfill a transmission!
Never start screws with a ratchet or drill, always start by hand, that way you will know if they screw is going in slanted.. damaging the inner thread could cost you thousands..
I really wanna insult you for being such a nerd but i can't because i learned something

Before reinstalling the inner boot for the shifter, shouldn't you check to see if the shifter actually shifts into all of the gears?

First comment was before watching the whole video. Since you do it that way, then it's not that crucial. Good job.
