This is not true! Cost of medicine has increased since our government started privatizing the pharmacies. The same goes for norway. The problem isn't public healthcare, it's corporations funding political campaigns that's the problem. No matter wether it's government healthcare or private that's the US main problem.

I bought a tube of skin cream for 15Euros over the counter in Greece, and here inthe US on my insurance the same stuff was billed at 200$. Americans are getting ripped off every step of the way, and the fact that many of those arguing against public healthcare dont have it themselves is just mind boggling.

I like both Ron Pauls ideas and Obamas. In this case I believe that healthcare should be socialized and PRIORITIZED!

Meaning if you should be taxin? ANYTHING it should be it!

My neighbor is an American citizen living in England for the past 35 years. Loves their medical system, gladly pays the heath tax, and buys his own supplemental health insurance. So, YES you do have alternatives. I'll support free market health when the WHOLE system changes, starting with term limits and ending with a federal gov't HALF its current size. Until then, I won't make sick people bankrupt. I say accelerate the decline into socialist abyss, then more will join freedom's cause!

I Love Ron Paul! But why can't we have a government medical service, like a police or fire dept? Having a fire dept doesn't mean you can't buy a fire extinguisher or sprinkler system. Having a police dept doesn't mean you can't own a weapon, buy a dog, hire a body guard or put in a security system. Is there really no middle ground?

No, there really is not. All of those examples essentially prohibit you from hiring alternative and potentially more efficient services of the same form. Why should you be forced to choose something you do not want?

No you can't have govt med service like a police or fire dept. Govt med service will drive private service into bankruptcy, but I don't know of any company in the private sector that is competing with the fire dept or the police dept. If you do, I would love to know.

The Obamacare will not lower costs. Single payer wont either & it doesnt matter because it isnt on the table to be discussed. Medicare & Medicaid have only made health care more expensive.

The problem with our system is that it is expensive so how does spending more money fix that problem?
