  • wow.. perfect!

This is Yapong dance, created by Bagong Kusudiardjo. The costume used to be in Betawi style. But in this video is East Java style, it's ok, a lot of Indonesian dancers change or mix and match the costumes.

  • Nice girls .. Java is one of Indonesia Island .. just for knowledge ..

  • good job girls. you nailed the movements and also the details. Beautiful!

  • funny dance..

  • dress and moving look like Serng (Thai Isaan dancing) mix with modern dance

  • its not yapong its jaipong

  • its definitely tari Yapong. Jaipong(-an) is from Sunda & very different from this dance :)

  • Woah! that was so beautiful!

Where does this type of dancing come from? Like Inda or China?

  • I'm from Jogjakarta, where the dance originally came from.

I'm grateful and highly appreciated that you guys recognize the beauty of our culture, specially this traditional contemporary dance which created by BAGONG KUSUDIARJO

Indonesia is very very rich of diversities cultures and traditions.

  • TARI YAPONG

    Made in Indonesia

  • I studied this dance at Padepokan Seni Bagong and I enjoy watching the dance change but maintain certain movements. Where is this School of Social work at?

  • love it!

i have known this dance since i was 5. this dance was one of masterpiece of bagong kusudiharjo a java traditional dance master who lived near my house. he has been passed away, but his creation commemorates him always.

the dance is a combination dance of java, sunda, betavi, banyumasan and melayu,,as we can se in its every move,,,that it has great message to us,,be united never be separated

  • very good performance!!well its betta de some malay dancers..

  • Opps..in English. The hip needs more swing start in the 37 sec but quite good!Bravo for Yapong dance

  • Waks..pinggulnya kurang doyong ngelemparnya...hehhehe...tapi cukup bagus

  • this dance is from jakarta(betawi)..usually categorise as one of the basic dances learnt for indonesian traditional dancers

  • for some reasons i get the feeling that the music and the movement somehow do not interact the way i remember it. anyway, thanx a lot for the upload, it made me travel back to fun days!

  • should be more graceful. That is how we traditional n original javanese dancers would be like.

  • you could add the tag "Yapong" (name of the dance)

  • I love their hand movements! The one they are doing in the first sequence is really hard! Also, I haven't seen such expressive, sensual Javanese dance--I thought the hip movements were more common among the Balinese dances. Thanks for sharing!

  • the music is off right now and i dont know how to fix it
