Or you can cut your time in half and less effort for same results with Halo 3 Toybox, has akk that place extras for modding, gametypes, maps, screnshots, films, and it has is own cons, sasher and rehasher with latest stuff so you cant get a ban.

You don't need a $50 xsata cable. I'm pretty sure it works with a simple hdd transfer cable (you can get one for around $4.00 to $12.00 bucks on ebay)

dude go and look at squarerspade's tutorial it has a program called halo 3 toybox it has everything for modding including rehashers, resigners, hex editor,engineer and gametype editor plus a video editor so yeah check it out hope this helps =]
