  • when radiohead extremely changed their music, they did good music

and new deep material and philosophy..

silverchair did that too.. but.. in a "strange way" ive tried to figured it out their music

and almost in the end of the conclusion >> "silverchair maybe should wait couple years again until they are ready, young modern just dont fit on SC's 'live', and those music and the songs just dont work for them, they should find another concept"

im sorry for my words and my english

    greetings from bali

  • love love love!

  • the best live version of this song is the young modern launch concert

  • the best!!!!!

  • definitely one of the best. and

dan looks amazing. altogether this video is just supaaaa.

and man those people were lucky!

  • yeah this song is hard to sing, even daniel got problem..this best live version of straight lines so far

  • unbelievable ! omg what a voice !!! unsingable bur he just do it easily

  • not always! he has trouble singing this song generally live - as much of a great singer as he is - its a hard track to sing - this video is probably his best version live.

  • i know yeah that it's a very hard song to sing ! :)

i just mean that here, he seems to sing it easily ! and i agree with you about the fact that it's probably one of the best live version of that song

  • He did it this well in the concert that night at Aladdin Theatre too.

After watching his voice fall to crap in the Leno/Ferguson performances, my gf and I were so happy to see him nail it out of the park in the concert!

  • fantastic performance!!!

  • his best vocal for straight lines..i think hes better on this tune!!greaat

  • Awesome! :)

  • Vocally this is the best sounding version of the song I have seen online

  • Great stuff, and hard to sing, but the man does have to choose an octive and stick to it

  • this song is beautiful because changes octave...

  • he doesn't change the octave... he sings on the same octave, he just starts out singing the chorus in falsetto, then pushes it out with his real voice.

  • the sound was GREAT here. sounded even better in person!! it was amazing to see them in such a small studio with less than 100 people...

  • It's definitely a tough song to sing, but he does a great job on this one. Amazing song!

  • flawless

  • Again. D & co sound great!

    Two thumbs up, again!

  • he sings so fucking greatttt!!

    the same as the video

    silverchair rocks!

  • rien à dire, ce mec a inventé un style aprés avoir maîtrisé et amélioré le rock, sonicced

  • to find traces of a 'good luck' academy

  • Daniel, you have one of the best voices in rock.....when I first heard "Tomorrow", I would have thought a 30 year old was singing that song....unbelievable..and this song here is one of my favs....you are def in the top ten...!!

  • love the touch paul mac adds to it, makes it seem more progressive, (straight line) than the album version did!

  • This one was perfect......

  • Million times better than the MTV video..

  • I love this, hmm, to think, in 45 hours or so, I'll be at newcastle watching silverchair rock it out!

  • He usually sounds like he's struggling really hard to sing this song. This sounded much more effortless, and much much better.

  • I think the reason he usually struggles to sing this song is because of the large change between notes. It's not like he's going from a B to a C to a D. More like from a B to an F. As a singer, I know that that is a very hard to thing to do and make it sound good.

  • thank you man, absolutely GOLD, cheers~.>

  • daniel sounds great. i think the best live vocal of straight lines i've heard from him ever.

  • I agree... damn near perfect! Anyone know if this is in Portland, ME or Portland, OR?

  • 94.7 FM is broadcast from Portland, Oregon. The date is labeled July 19th, and that's the night I saw them live, but I have no idea where the Mississippi Studio is (I saw them at the Aladdin Theater). Portland was the first concert of their American tour after they had canceled all those shows in California. This video in particular was probably the first show they played since Daniel recovered from his laryngitis.

  • Nice.. we have a 94.7 up here in portland maine and it also plays alternative music so I thought they might have made a stop without me knowing.. heh

  • this was a lil private show where they did 4 songs before the show at the aladdin later that night. then they did a meet & greet.

  • How in the hell did one get an invite to this? This would have been a dream come true for me.

  • we won passes off the radio!

  • great!!!! kill the man on the l;eft muahahaha

  • be nice to paul!

  • yay thanks for putting this up. i was there and it was even better sounding in person!! i wish the station would release the other 3 songs they did but they won't :(

  • bloody fantastic! they sound absolutely superb

  • fuck me!!!.. this is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!.. :-D
