AJ holmes is SO going places professionally. this video (much like the others) is SO good... i've been a big fan since i heard his stuff in a small tavern in the middle of nowhere on a lake. best of luck dude, not that you need it.
wow u r amazing! hey don't worry about the quality of the picture. everything on youtube looks crappie. i havn't seen a video yet that was clear and cameras almost never pick up lighting and scenery like you see them (either that or i just have really crappie cameras! :P) but yea ur all amazing. I'll be there on the big stage one day. Hope to see you all there. (that and when i acctually get a camera with good sound i'll post some stuff of me singing! look forward to it!)
so when you say "high school" you guys mean "professional company" right? I keep stumbling into videos from shows at this school and I'm always awed. rock.
yes it is a pity we cannot see the performers a little better, but coming from someone with lighting experience, it is VERY VERY different lighting for the stage and for the film. This was obviously lighting for the stage.
Oops, forgot to add that any liberties taken by Ashmanskas or any of the other actors as were probably encouraged by JRB himself. If these changes were not liberties, then it is very likely that they were rather instructed to do so. The show was put together under JRB's musical direction and supervision.
Uh...The pianist on the original recording is Jason Robert Brown himself >_> So any liberties that were taken with the accompaniment were rightfully done, seeing as he WAS the composer and lyricist for the entire musical
I thought this was really good. I agree with the person above who said there should've been more volume on the vocals. And I wasn't sure what was up with that rhythm at the start of each verse. I'm sure there was a good reason for your doing it though.
the guy on the cd does A LOT of really wierd stuff, especially on she cries, when the song changes at the "all of a sudden" he totally does it differently...but then i guess he can do what he wants, but it still confuses the hell out of people like us lol
um, the guy on the cd isn't norbert leo butz. He was in the last five years. The guy on the SFANW CD is Brooks Ashmanskas. He's cool, he just changed the rhythm in this song.
I can't stop listening to this. I'm in love with your voice!

So...i'm putting on a production of Songs at my local theater company. My goal is to be better than your production.
That's some pretty damned high standards you set there. Awesome job guys.

no offense to the actors, but the lighting in this whole show sucks. You cant see anyone, specifically those not in a spot, tis bad

the lighting looks pretty bad on the videos, but was actually pretty fantastic for the actual shows- it's a shame it doesn't transfer.

That's actually how it's written in the music. The guy on the CD squeezes two measures of music into one...it's really weird.

Great job to everyone. I wish the orchestra music was a little more quiet though, so that I could hear better.
