I found Bangor a convenient base to explore Snowdonia and Anglesey from. Its got everything you need and some of the fastest wireless internet coverage around. Quite amazing to be in the Sun on the Bangor Pier and watch wild weather hover for hours ( and days) on Mt Snowdon.The Menai Straight foreshores and the entire snowdonia area is just sensational in late spring and summer.

i was born in Bangor Hospital. i originally come from Holyhead though. I now live in Norwich, but im so proud of my Welsh roots. I don't really care if there's tramps in Bangor. I love it there.

Bangor has died in the last ten years. Tramps, drunks, chavs, broken bottles, boy racers, charity shops. They were always around, but are now dominant. However, it is much the same elsewhere: 'Broken Britain' is more apt than 'Broken Bangor'.

Shops there are shit. Most of them are charity shops. Loads of pubs there though. And tramps. Lots of them playing music.
