fun fact: it was black in japan and coloured blue or red for us westerners who apparantly dont know the difference between a lightgun with a massive cable coming out of it or an actual automatic pistol. I blame germany and the NRA!

my dad got a stunner with the saturn he bought off line a couple years ago and it was alright at first but I found virtua cop in a retro store and I'm having trouble with the gun, it's firing all over the place it may be because of the screen size (huge tv), but its rough because you really can't get the full effect, still love the game though had a nostalgia trip replaying it. used to memorize all the enemy locations as a kid, music is real kick ass too

The Japanese one is actually black. There are 2 revisions of it in Japan. One is all black, the other is black with a yellow button and trigger with supposedly better accuracy.

Totally painted my two when I got sick of that color. One was a nice cobalt blue the other was a pale white with red markings underneath. I always enjoyed the variations between the two.

I had an old one, and while looking for a cool prop for a movie I saw it and was immediately in love, I painted, and distressed the gun so it looks real enough, then used cgi for muzzle flashes, i'm thinking of editing it and moding it to have a working action, and top- break system.

I remember during that time, I was disappointed that most guns from here on up were re colorized and changed because few people actually got shot for pointing the past game guns at real cops.. One of my friends actually repainted that gun black.

In the PAL territories, it does have another name: The Virtua Light Gun similar to what you thought of. Also, in Europe you could by a light blue or pink one, just like the Arcade cabinet.

LOL I have a gun that is called

"VIRTUAL GUN"

Its HUGE and is red, has a reload button and start button on one side, a "Special" button on the other side, as well as a speed setting and an auto reload, auto fire, and Auto Reload=Auto Fire simultaneously. It even has these lights that start to glow below the barrel of the gun AND can be plugged into a PS1 or PS2 as well. This gun doesn't fuck around! Glad I got it for free with Virtua Cop 1 :D

@alece1382 a CRT tv is usually one that is made of glass, and is not an HD TV, also try to avoid any flat screen TV get one that kinda bulges out of the plastic

I have no idea if foreign accessories work on any Saturn, but if they do look for a Japanese version.

Japan doesn't have the same laws against realistic looking toys. Though the black probably won't be as helpful as an Xbox controller S..

The reason its orange is because way back in the day when the first light gun was released it was mistaken for a real gun.needless to say bad things happened.and the later version for the light gun had the tip painted orange,and almost all light guns after where orange or light blue .just to be safe

They should put these game on the Wii. The Wii has a game like this with Zombies it is quite good. The DS has something similar called Furious n Dead, you use the pointer as a gun. Real addictive.

I remember this. Virtual cop with the stunner was one of the only games i had for the Saturn. Still has it in my closet:) I never got around to buy anything else for it... Except Nights. But that one i never tried.

My Stunner was blue though... maybe they was blue in Europe, i dont know:)
