I've lived in china and the US and there are many things that are better about the Chinese system. For common problems the Chinese system is far better, you don't need permission to buy medicine, and the prices are reasonable. Seeing a local doctor is cheap and easy.

For emergencies a US hospital is better, if you can afford it. If the Chinese system had more money it would be 1000x better. The US has decent hospitals, but still manages the crappiest nonsensical excuse for a health care system.

By the way, the health care is more free market in china than in the US. There are small clinics everywhere and people have far better access to medicine that would otherwise require an expensive visit to the doctor to get permission to treat yourself in the US.

You're silly. This bill doesn't give the government any jurisdiction in running healthcare, if it did, it'd be a lot better than this terrible thing that is going through the legislature currently. Ever heard of VA benefits or medicare? Those are government run, and work quite well, especially medicare. This bill simply mandates you get private insurance. So, technically, you should just be so excited about this, since you don't believe in government healthcare.
