We saw this movie for my Dad's birthday. It was pretty cool! I mean, sure, they should have deleted a scene, but besides that unnecessary scene, it was a masterpiece! I personally give it 4.5 stars out of 5!
Okay I fucking hate how they couldn't get one or two people associated with Rotten Tomatoes to review it. Having people across the net who are no name faces with no credits reviewing a full feature Dis flick, that makes me not want to even watch this video let alone the actual movie. Fucking retards. Using users across the net is not a good idea to promote a movie you morons. Good grief.
Its hard to contemporize a classic film like scrooge in a film world thats about action and adventure! So the question really, is adding this to the film going to ruin the underlying theme. I would say that, as they mentioned, an overabundance of elaboration, especially if it changes the story too much, will have a negative effect and if the crowd expects the story to have basic unchanging elements. However it may be fine for people who are completely new to it.
Does it still have the same redeeming christmas spirit end like the earlier ones. And is there a lot of caroling and music like the previous ones. Albert Finney's was the best Scrooge.
@Altairmuse Since you had to go there... to me the best version of all time is the British with Alistair Sim from 1951. There just is no one who captured the transformation more convincingly or heartwarmingly than this Scrooge. Special effects? Kept to a minimum for BEST effect.
For the first time ever i totally disagree with the rotten tomatoes...this movie stayed truer to the story than most versions, and thats with jim carrey in it. Honestly maybe thats why most didnt like it, they wanted more comedy
I'll be back in 2 days to let ya know how it is. Because unlike half the people on the internet, I actually watch a movie before I rip it a new one...
This movie would have been much better if they would have just filmed it in 2D.

this. is. not. a. freaking. children's. film. If so, I might as well say the Ring is for five year olds.

How predictible that all Christianity was washed from the film. I'll take the George C. Scott version, thanks.

this movie has the best snowfall i've ever seen. the 3d effects were well done and the motion capture was appropriate for a story like this.

The only thing more odd than this movie is Jim Carrey's website. Both awesome though.

Totally true. I was expecting something like the muppets and was pleasantly surprised by how dark, creepy and not hollywood it was.

They might as well have made it a live action. Scrooge looks like Jim Carrey with old makeup.
