Yes, Dynasty was kind of a let-down compared to their previous releases, but I still liked it. Songs like Magic Touch, Charisma, and Dirty Livin', still blast from my speakers to this day. Dynasty also sold well over a million copies in it's first year.

This is Kiss during one of their bizarre phases; This was supposed to be Kiss' disco song. I don't even like the Word disco, but I let Kiss slide cause they made the most bad-ass disco song of all time. When this came out, the Village People, the Bee-Gees, and Donna Summer all got scared. Paul hits high notes that blow most singers away, and the music actually seems to be thrashing at one point. Thank God this was their only disco song; the rest of Dynasty kicked ass!

It's debatable regarding the effect it had on their reputations....especially among Rock fans of that time. There were many older KISS fans who absolutely hated the solo albums and even more so Dynasty. I was 5 at the time and was a huge KISS fan for already 3 years so I would have loved whatever they did.But I recall the older kids groaning. They completely gave up after Unmasked.(Which I also loved).Lifelong KISS army,motherfucker!
