  • This scene just made me cry....THE WHOLE MOVIE IS ONE BIG MEAN, TRAUMATIZING, EXTREMELY CRUEL HOUR FILLED WITH ABUSIVE TORTURE!!! TT_____TT

  • why is Peter Frampton in this scene?

  • @tulllguy Taking that satirically, that was funny. He does look a lot like Peter Frampton. But really his name is William Katt (a.k.a. The Greatest American Hero)

  • I felt so bad for Carrie in this scene. Such horrible bullying she endured and she had enough.

  • Most drawn out scene... EVER!!!

  • @petrosexual DePalma is good at that.

  • The prom's theme might as well be "We pranked the creepy girl with psychic powers, and now we're all going to die"

  • I like the movie, but the novel REALLY made you feel bad for her. It's incredibly emotional. Sad.

  • One of the few horror films where I actually sympathized with the "Monster"

  • the drawn outness in Brian de Palmas direction makes the build up almost unbearable. Perfect horror in every way!

  • I always felt sorry for Carrie, No one deserves to be abused like that. (Though mental abuse at home and at School is stark reality for a lot of girls.)

  • @victoriatodd Not just for girls...............it's just as bad for boys too.

  • she makes the room red

  • If you pause at around 4:54-4:55 that is possibly the most disturbing image of a face I have ever seen. I remember my sis showed me it when i was like 10 and I coluldnt get the iomage out of my mind for days.

  • @stoxocube18 ACTUALLY 4:47

  • this movie is fucking retared... everybody goes to panic attack? wtf...

  • @picturemyprorphecy well if a bucket of blood fell on me and my date is lying there unconsious light and objects start having a life of there own doors don't open fires are breaking out left and right and ppl are dying horrible deaths in front of me oh yeah I think I just might a tad bit of a panic attack lol

  • @ohwell94 i thought carrie had some powers and shit made the doors shut.

  • @picturemyprorphecy in the book she levels the entire town

  • I never understood why they found it soooo funny...

  • @toytolosk Actually no one was laughing but it was Carrie's imagination.. She was so used to being tormented that her mind made her think everyone was going to life when that bucket spilled on her...

  • UMADCARRIE?

  • Best.Prom.Ever (in my opinion)

  • GO CARRIE!

  • If that happened to me I would scream then storm off to take a shower

  • Officer Lewis, Riff Randall, Vinnie Barbarino, The Greatest American Hero, the stepmom from Eight Is Enough...all wiped out.

  • @joeydeadcat She also kills Cheswick from Cuckoo's Nest and Robocop's partner Lewis.

  • @CaligulosQuixotic don't forget the date was to be The Greatest American Hero known as Ralph.

  • her face at 5:20 SHITS ABOUT TO GO DOWN!

  • hey that bitch stole my name

  • When she started to kill everyone I was cheerig all the way! GO CARRIE!!!!

  • 4:37 -_-

  • I'm traveling back through time to Occupy Reebok, because they support the South African Apartheid... and Fuck Sprite too for the same reason ... and fuck the Federal Reserve because they're not really the U.S. gov... only a fake corporation and front company for evil gay shit ... I'm using Telekinesis on these motherfuckers!!

  • ano CGI here. everything looks real... the fire is real, firehose is real. I hate CGI in horror movies they don't work and looks fake

  • actually no one laughed only the bullies did .. the girl in the hat etc... Carrie envisioned the all people laughing but it was in her mind.

  • @Tonster1998 Actually the girl in the hat did laugh because she was part of the whole thing - when she laughed Carrie thought everyone was laughing at her.

  • @Starkardur that's what i meant.. this movie should be remade. even though it may not live up to the original is should still be remake.. so the younger audience can see this timeless 1976 horror movie. Plus this was Stephen King's best movie adaptation.. how can it not be remade?

  • @Tonster1998 well they did make a tv movie remake - but it wasn´t very good and they claimed it to be another adaptation not a remake although it had some many similarities with this version that were not in the book.

  • make her mad everyone must die

  • ...and that's why we don't bully other kids....

  • that was so sad

  • yall mess with the wrong girl

  • carrie + grudge = alma

  • OMG i lovvvvvvvvvvvve this movie <3 fuckk best halloween movie ever

  • who was the person at 07:25 (left side)

then she died by that swinging thing that hit her waist area.

was she the teacher or something that was nice to carrie all this time?

  • @bubbaXzone That was Mrs. Collins, her gym teacher. Yes she was nice to her.

  • @fanblow well why did carrie kill her then? SHE WAS NICE!!!!!!

  • @bubbaXzone Look at the video again and see why.

  • @fanblow i am sry i don't understand why :(.

  • @bubbaXzone Because when everybody laughed at her, so does the teacher.

  • @fanblow yea but she wasn't laughing it was just all in her imagination right?

  • @bubbaXzone Yes, it was just a hallucination. Chris and her friends were the ones laughing in reality.

  • @fanblow i like when carrie fux the 2 ppl in the car when they were gonna run her over :P.

  • @bubbaXzone yes.. the bullies like the girl is the only one that was really laughing . it was all in Carrie's mind that the rest were laughing

  • The original Jean Grey...

  • it was so awesome to see Carrie get back at everyone, but at the same time, I was terrified once i saw that look in her eyes.

  • my mum got me this on dvd today. Probably on eof the best moments of my entire life. i'm probably gonna watch this 2,000000000000000000000000000463682657 times.

  • damn it, i can barely tell what's going on. it's so blocky and pixelized

  • i read that sissy spacek was originally cast as Chris, the mean girl, but she wanted and eventually won the carrie part because she knew how good a role it was.

  • Stephen King is the fucking god of writing horror stories

  • @16kynewell And Alrred Hitchcock is the god of suspense.

  • I feel soo bad for Carrie, I mean she already has enough going on at home with her crackhead of a mom

  • wow that girl is really dumb it took her THAT long to figure out that a bucket of blood was about to fall on Carrie? she just stands there with a dumb look on her face

  • @MutantNinjaFly first of all it's in slow motion. second of all it's a directorial tool to build tension..... the long build up makes it even more dramatic.

  • @samthor THANK YOU

  • @MutantNinjaFly It's slow motion idiot.

  • @MutantNinjaFly ......the clip was in slow motion. And she was high probably......1976 everyone went to the dance high

  • @MutantNinjaFly the whole lead up to that part was in slow mo so it seemed long

  • @MutantNinjaFly it's called slow motion dude

  • Were actually laughing @ her or was see just seeing things

  • @crisis101able some were laughing at her, like that girl with the baseball cap. but most of the others were more shocked.

  • Both the book and the movie are equally well, but when you see the movie first, then the actors somehow get placed in the book because the movie is so good.

  • Trivia fact: Sissy Spacek actually really WAS Homecoming Queen in high school! Very interesting to have her play this.

Also, Stephen King was bullied in school, and there are a lot of bullied characters in his earlier books (this was his very first published novel). It's extremely clear he understands the emotions of bullied kids and their tormentors.

  • @bootes53 I think he understands children really well, generally speaking. But bullied ones are his specialty, yes.

  • Awwww. this sucks! I'm just gonna go watch a fucking decapitation now...

  • I have only read the book :P

  • At 5:26 , Oh Shit .

  • And for once the psycho bitch wins :D

  • Comment removed

  • Carrie should of say,

Carrie: Now shall you deal with me, you f****ng idiots, and all the powers of Hell!

  • when i watch the film i kind of wish the revenge scene were longer but as it is it's brilliantly excecuted

  • i cant believe the teachers are also laughing too bad she killed them

  • @ahceda09 Actually no one was laughing at her.. It was her imagination.. the only one that laughed was Sue...

  • @Jeffrizel1986

Sue didn't laugh; she was the "good" one who tried to stop Chris.

  • @ahceda09

It was actually Norma (played by P.J. Soles) - the girl with the red cap - that was the only one "in" on Chris Hargensen's revenge, and she actually did laugh. Being doused in pig's blood was the straw that broke the camel's back - at that point, Tommy (whose feelings for her were real) was dying/dead, and all she heard was her mother's voice, so she imagined everyone laughing at her. Carrie snapped, and took her revenge.

Read the book if you haven't - it's excellent.

  • As a SK Constant Reader (since 1986), this is 1 of his best novels & earliest. Carrie & Charlie are bad ass girls eh. ;)

  • i wish i had Carrie's power , i wouldn't kill nobody , still ........ :)

  • Damn that's going to be one vacant High School Graduation.... All of her fellow classmates are dead... LOL

  • theres really no excuess for that kind of behavior

  • Poor Carrie...I just wanna give her a hug...

  • @MeowBitchDubs Me too. :c

  • Damn, people in the 70's were HIDEOUS! (ugly)

  • aw i wish miss collins had lived :/

  • @KyleGibbons91 is she in halloween??!!

  • I woulda been the only person that survived. I woulda been soooo nice to her.

  • @BeastySteez unfortunately in this Greek tragedy...NOONE survived. As you see Ms. Collins was about the only one who WAS nice to Carrie and even she had to go. Cause at moments like this... your ALL guilty.

  • This movie can be summed up in one word.....Karma!

  • @jasonmar36 aka: Roland's Ka (fr/ SK's The Dark Tower). -;)

  • moral of the story here kids NEVER bully someone you may never know if they will turn out to be a freak with super human powers.

  • An absolute classic tale of revenge...that remake however (although it was faithful to the book), will NEVER be nothing like this masterpiece of high school revenge.

  • @JamesDHarrah this movie had a very bad sequel too

  • @JamesDHarrah mine sure was (in '86). lol

  • ...Prom's are fucked! Go Carrie go.

  • Ironically Carrie was very special and gifted with her powers and with the right support, she could have been someone very significant in the world and could have been popular based on her powers alone..Unfortunately since she had lack of support from her psycho mom and lack of friends, she ended up using her powers for evilness and revenge..

  • omg this was the first ever horror movie i ever watchd, i was like 8 or 9 when i watchd it nd this part gave me nightmares....... BUT IT STILL SOOOOO AWESOME!!!!!!

  • I LOVE the way this is shot.

  • @DefacingMorosely me too. i love the split screen. i dont know why but for some reason it makes it more creepier.

  • Has anyone else noticed the 2 cars going backwards near the end of the movie? When Sue is walking in slow motion to Carrie's house,,you can see a couple of cars going in reverse in the background.

  • its sad that people can be that cruel to make fun and ridicule someone like they did carrie! Carrie could have been my best friend! I would have saw her for who she was. But her mother was a nutcase! ugh!! because of this movie (this scene really) I didnt go to my junior or senior prom. And I dont really regret it either.

  • they're all gonna laugh at you

  • "god i love bloody massacres dont you chris hargensen?" puts hand over chris hargensens shoulder "oh thats right i forgot your dead oh well still a good bloody massacre dont you agree billy nolan?" looks at billy nolan "oh shit thats right carrie killed you too" looks around the movie theatre "jesus christ is there anyone else who survived the black prom?" "i survived the black prom" sue snell says to me "great! now lets sit back and look at this good ole horror show"

  • I always hated that scene at 7:32 !

That nice lady shouldnt of got it the worst!

It should of happened to the slut at 6:54!

Getting sprayed with water was too good for that little bitch!

  • at 6:35, even in such a horrific event I think I would've SHATTERED THAT BITCH'S TEETH to grab MY hair like that. yeah, I would've put that BITCH in her place. she surely got her just deserts. she really threw her weight around

  • holy fuck..:P I watched this when I was 12 or something and it scared the crap out of me.. Im now 16 and this is the first time I dare to see this again xD It's not as scary as it was before but it still creeps me out because I know how scared I was back then (:

  • They've been clapping for 3 minutes and 44 seconds. damn.

  • I hope something like this happens in that new Disney movie prom XD. But on a serious note, this is sad...and tragic. This movie is AWESOME. The book is GREAT as well.

  • me siento igfual

  • thats a damn long round of applause

  • Bottom line....DON'T FUCK WITH THE QUIET GIRL!!!

  • i watched this movie when it first came out and I was so traumatised by it afterward, I was too scared to walk on the grass on my way home from the movies, lol. It still stands out as one of those scarey movies that still scares the living daylights out of me.

  • that right kill'em they didnt have to fuck her up like that

  • Okay....why the hell does the girl start screaming when the door gets stuck? I mean, yes, the fire warranted some panic, but before then....a good film, but could've been scarier.

  • @traod8 Because the door didn't get stuck...Carrie obviously willed it to happen...and she started screaming when the two guys were getting electrocuted. Carrie cut the lights and closed all of the doors just by looking at them, I would scream too if I saw two of my classmates dying because of some girl willing it to happen...

  • The actress who played "Norma" suffered permanent hearing loss in her left ear due to the "fire hose scene".

  • @lugger2010 did she really?!

  • @lugger2010 actually not permanent more like temporary i read it on imdb her ear drum healed after a couple of months

  • I was teased and bullied in Middle school and High school. It really sucked. Every day when I'd get home I'd go up to my room and cry for about a hour until my mom got home from work. Then I would put on a brave face.

  • @TudorRose85 Did yout mom ever know bout it ?

  • Carrie's got made awesome telekinetic powers.

  • they clapped for a really long time.

  • It's prom night tonight where I live. I was bullied relentlessly. Not gonna lie, this is my FAVORITE scene. I had a huge grin on my face when she got them ALL.

  • @6414211332

    They stopped laughing.

  • @6414211332 Do it!

  • @6414211332 I really understand you but on my porm more then one came up to me and said they where sorry for all the bulling. Today i know servreal of them who bullied me have had a horrible life. What you bring to the table comes back at you in some stage of life.

  • Best stephen king movie ever made

  • I Love this movie so much, it always made me Realize How Good I hate it.. I mean look how sad Carrie was and she never did a thing wrong....And people were just so mean to her.. This is my favorite stephen king movie of all time.. Sissy Spacek I love you SOo Much You made this movie a classic.

  • I always cry during this movie! T.T

  • she got them hoes! i love this part!

  • es una de mis favoritas

  • MY NAME IS CARRIE. IM SO VERY. FLY OH MY ITS A LIL BIT SCARY.

  • I dont like this scene at all

  • I dont know why everyone likes this movie. it sucks donky balls

  • This is 1 of my all time favourite films, an absolute Classic.

  • You put this movie and put it with the song Jason Lives from The Friday The 13th Part 6: Jason Lives and it matches perfectly.

  • I just wet myself.

  • you know carrie is like alma from fear

  • God this movie scared the hell outta me in 76. I was 15...and it still scares me. lol.

  • what the hell is going on in this scene

  • this one she is moving alot

    2002 she just stands there

  • can somebody please tell me why they wanted carrie dead so bad?

  • @asianboi1004 nobody wanted carrie dead. Practically everybody in that school teased and tormented Carrie for years while her telekenetic abilities began to grow. The pig blood scene was the last straw as far as her control over her powers were concerned. Except for Sue, the boy who was her date to the prom, and the female gym teacher, everybody else hated Carrie. But by the time she lost control of her powers nobody was safe not even the gym teacher.

  • WHY DID SHE KILL THE GYM TEACHER THOUGH?

  • @thenickshow313 she believed that she was laughing with the rest i think and said carrue could trust her

  • ....its safe to say that was a bad idea on there part

  • E' uno degli horror con il finale migliore!

  • I don't find this shocking or grotesque. Just dull.

  • best film ever made carrie was amazing great actress sissy was as well

  • Sissy Spacek is so beautiful I would have voted for her!

  • that what they get

  • i love this movie its fucking crazy

  • I love Carrie

  • It was my first time seeing the movie yesterday. This was way Better then the 2002 remake IMO

  • IS THAT blood or paint??

  • @145haruna Pig's blood. (Yuk)

  • @regnarts79 my god your right

  • @regnarts79 ew god but i really admire her powers so many people i wish i could do that to but i love them so much

  • @145haruna its blood

  • @Tsumefan2 yecah

  • @145haruna yeah pig blood they were planning to prank her but they got the last laugh XD

  • @Tsumefan2 lolz wow thats great XD
