I was introduced to this song on the radio show "Metalshop" - loved it.
Graduated HS in '89 and had an entire summer with not much to do. I spent it driving around in my '69 Dodge Dart GT ragtop with a buddy of mine - going to junkyards to buy parts to keep the car running... while listening to this band.
Still my all time favorite band.
Living in AZ now in the middle of the desert, nothing better than driving home on my dirt roads and listening to "Simple Man" full blast in the truck.
Seeing this reminds me of many a high school saturday night spent drinking beer we either stole or bought with a fake ID, all while shooting pool with Headbanger's Ball going in the background. Life is still great, but bands like Junkyard made for some special times back in my stoner days.
@pmuzingo loved this shit!!!! never understood why bands like Poison n Warrant (who sound like pop) got big and bands like Junkyard n Roxx Gang didn't get the recognition......... Btw I'm from Wa. state and was always a huge Mother Love Bone fan n anyway a friend of mine was in Frisco on vacation and saw ya'll do a show with them.......said both bands rocked!!!
I remember hearing this album in when I was stationed in Jacksonville South Carolina. The girl at the music store told me the Michael Stipe from REM sort of discovered the band. Too bad they only put out only a few albums.
@oldhacks Why not? Look at the way SSD sounded and looked. The $ didn't suck either? We were all in punk bands (Big Boys, Decry, etc.) and so were allot of others during that time. At least we weren’t Warrant...hahaha
@pmuzingo or " pretty girl floyd ." i lived in hollywood and western building , ya'll were the baddest muthafucka's ! remember pretty girl floyd ? i hated their candyasses .
These guys were the best band that you never heard of. Their first 2 cd's were a great combo of glam metal and southern rock. Too bad they never got the big break alot of far less talented bands got.
YA see, this IS rock and Roll. It tells story of how life was according to how they saw it at the time. And the fact that it hasn't changed is a testament to how timeless music really is...lml.
I saw these guys at Club Lingerie in Hollywood (dont know what its called now) back in the early 90's and they kicked ass! This is one of the BEST lesser known songs. After KNAC went off the air all this shit went away......til now!
Saw these guys a couple weeks ago. All short hair and clean cut but they still rocked like nobody's business. Maybe 100 of us in the crowd having the freaking time of our lives. Closed with a Fear cover. Awesome. Go see 'em if you get a chance
Crazy, I was a fan of this shit back in the day, but an even bigger fan of Faster Pussycat, and just learned that Brent Muscat-guitarist for FF brother Todd is in this band.. Just thought Id throw that out there.. But man this song brings back those nutty dayz..There still crazy!!!

Great song! Great group! Its a pitty that they didn't make it big because they had a lot to offer. This video was so awesome, reminded me of early Motley Crue. Loud and in your face!
the problem so to speak with Junkyard was just the sheer number of bands that sounded like them ALL trying to make it. Circus of power, Rhinobucket, Kix. They had big region success. Pisses me off too, instead of bands lke this making it huge we were all stuck with shitty bands like poison, winger, slaughter, and the like.
Junkyard was soo awesome... they were def underrated... But.. If you like them... you had to like dangerous toys..... and the guitar player from dangerous toys was Kevin Fowler.... Hes a country singer now.... HAHAHA
