let me guess- those that dissed this had 2 reasons:
the music had a positive message
and it wasn't emo enough.
i can respect even a bad band for trying to be unique. the vocals showed promise if they branched out in their style choices.

this is definitely not their best song- try listening to their versions of The Bard's Song, Wishmaster, and Speed of Light.
I agree with what you said about originality. There is so little left in the world, each time I hear some it makes my day ^_^
