  • Marvelous automobile. Thank-you Australia and the great folks at Holden! Thanks to you we here in America have this marvelous Pontiac G8!

  • Australia is not a 3rd world country you silly sausage Who is this? do you live in Antartica?

  • And great spelling by a pathetic loser

  • ahahahahaaa you idiot

  • short memory you dumbarse holden fans i remember a certain GM usa svu rebadged a holden .does suburban ring a bell . did the yanks get up set no . why cause they didn't give a shit cause its all GM in the end.

  • whoa, how many years ago was that, and did you ever see one on the road.

  • I want it. Corvette derived engine, rear wheel drive, four door saloon, that can spank the German and Jap competitors. Who cares where it was developed as long as it ends up on my driveway!

  • So if i design a really ugly grill outta clay the rest of the car magically forms itself? Wow!

  • I want one.

  • I'm not into sport cars but I look forward to seeing test driving and possibly purchasing one of these G8 GT, if GM manages to get the accessories right, of course.

  • If you want to see this car as the Australian Holden VE SSV check out my vids

  • fucking americans taking credit for australias work pontiac had nothing to do with this car it was all done by holden who invested a billion dollars into this car and fucking pontiac stages their own desingers desinging the car bloody typical

  • Holden as been taking credit for Opels work for years, most of the Commodores before 2006 have been based on the German car maker Opel so yea. Besides they're both part of GM. Holden agreed to it obviously, it's not like they stole the idea. They put the Pontiac logo on their because no one in America would buy the Holden Commodore because they never heard of it. It's the same reason why Holden isn't known as Opel in Australia.

  • no wonder why gm are heading towards the shit hole.... it took them 15 monkey's to stick a shit looking grille on the front!

  • i hate the way american sport sedans are designed, who's ever heard of a sporty block? the handling on that thing must suck..

  • It's amazing how you can tell that the handling must suck just from watching a video. Actually, the benchmark for this car is Audi and BMW. I think, if you actually take the time to drive a G8 instead of just mindlessly bashing it, that you would be VERY surprised at how well it handles and how competitive it is to some of the well-regarded manufacturers...

  • its a holden commodore ssv designed and built in australia

  • i WORK FOR A PONTIAC DEALERSHIP IN IL. AND TRUST ME WE HATE IT ALREADY ITS NOT AN AMERICAN SHAPE LIKE THE GTO PLEASE KEEP THE GRAND PRIX

  • So, you'd rather keep a moldy old FWD "performance car" (which rides on a 20 year old chassis and has poor styling, rental-grade interior and cheap plastic) over a world-class, brand-new RWD architecture? Explains why many Pontiac dealers are going out of business...

  • do you hate it because its australian?

  • and let me tell you somthing in texas we ride everything big and RWD and from GM and a V8 and this car dosent look bad and keep you north amercian FWD in your ass man

  • true true

  • hope its not as bad as the cheap ole Grand Am

  • Sweet! Now bring on the Holden Caprice. GM is making a big comeback. Thank God, finally!

  • i dont get this video its trying to say that pontiac designed the car? it was already designed and just rebadged. only thing they designed was the new grill... and from what ive heard Holden is one of the main income of profits for GM

  • I was about to say the same stuff, well I guess the people in the video was GMs crack team hired to make the highly complicated grille :P. Thats an American engineering benchmark right there! That just shows how lazy GM is, get the aussies to build the car we'll just rebadge it and sell it and pretend its our own.

  • holden is owned by gm so how is it lazy

  • It's lazy because GM can't put any effort into building the US a decent car thats just for us (besides the Vette).

  • Well Holden is GM's property, and has been for many decades., they can do whatever they want with the products made by them (Holden) and all the others in Europe.

  • Great looking car. Anyone who thinks GM using the products from its Holden division and selling them here as Pontiac's is naive. Holden is GM.

Do you complain when Honda and Toyota sell model here as Lexuses, Acuras, and Scions? Give me a break.

I hope this model kicks ass and takes names for GM.

  • I think it's kinda dumb that they just rebadged the car and called it a pontiac G8. I mean you don't see ford getting on of their jags and calling it the next mustang...

  • No, but Ford gladly took the Mondeo and largely derived the X-Type off of it. Ford also did a concept car that was a rebodied RX-8. Tribute/Escape, the list goes on. The G8 is a rebadged Holden, but it's not a rebadge in the manner that deserves derision. You can't find a Holden dealer in the US, but with the G8 you'll be able to buy an awesome RWD V8 sedan from Pontiac. Sounds fine to me!

  • Obviously, you don't get it. Holden is GM, and GM is going to leverege every part of the company to design the best products for each market. Holden itself benefits by supplementing their own portfolio from GM for product. In fact GM is acting much like its own competitors, namely Toyota.

  • I see the americans have once again taken an Australian car, done some minor cosmetic alterations and claimed it as their own. Bravo.

  • They've done no such thing, The Zeta platform was designed as a Global platform, not just australian... Plus, Bob Lutz has been very vocal about the cars Holden origins....and who cares anyway, does anyone really think that GM can make money just selling a line of cars in Australia, sorry to say it, but Australia isn't that big of a market, the development costs of the zeta platform would never merrit selling it only in Australia. Besides, its all GM anyway....
