@magerhein In the original Japanese version, Henry was the one to suggest the name Metabee to Ikki. In the english dub, Ikki was the one that came up with the name. So it's kind of a translation fail thing...

So, it could be that Henry told Ikki that the Medabot's name is Metabee whilst giving him the choice whether to change it or not. And there is where Ikki said" I'll name him... Metabee'. Whether Metabee's name is the original medabot's name or was the name chosen by Henry, I don't know. Whether what I'm saying is true or not, I don't know and I surely don't care cause this is my favorite childhood show and I would like it to stay that way. :P

I think I've got the answer to the Metabee's name issue. I think the name comes with the Medabot. We can see that when many of the same medabots have the same name. But I think that the medafighter has the option to name their own medabot with whatever name they want. As you know that Brass( Erika's medabot) has 2 name, one being Brass and the other being Sailor-multi and yet she has never call her medabot by sailor-multi. It could be that Brass is the name Erika chose for her.

Though in the dub they made Ikki say "I'll name him Metabee" while in the original it was Henry/Hikaru that declared it's called Metabee. So there's some mess-up in the later episodes about which Metabee is who, and who named which and stuff...
