This program was so ahead of its time! I can't help but sing along. I was a very big fan of the TMNT, but this puts them to shame. 30-30 is just killer. The setting are so versatile; the space graphics are so under used, they could have spent several minutes of every show exploring and exhibiting the awesome abilities of the shows artists.
Who was the main villain - Stampede or Tex Hex? Did Tex Hex work for Stampede? If memory serves me correct, Stampede was a smokelike phantom! Also, my favorite character was Scuzz - that cigar chomping dwarf. Guy could barely put two words together without coughing!
Stampede was a demonlike entity. Even though he was huge, he never used physical force, only magic.
TexHex on the other hand was a Karium-smuggler, who almost died because of his own greediness. Stampede brought him back, gave him special powers, and turned him into his servant.
Honestly, it takes me back. But i do my part and show my 3 year old son classics only. Spongebob was originally MEANT for adults as a stoner flick. So while my kids adopted a cool sense of humor, i still can't stand how hollow that shit is. RIGHT NOW MY KID IS ADDICTED TO GOOF TROOP. DENNIS THE MENACE ETC> even looney tunes and tom n jerry are more stimulating to the mind than the pretentious nonsense nick puts out. BUT FACE IT IT'S A YOUNG WORLD, WERE GETTING PHASED OUT.
*Sniff* That was from my childhood. Why not bring these toons back to watch on TV. What about "Biker Mice From Mars"? "bucky o'hare". Those were the days.
@zzzsoldierzzz so true, I was an 80's kid myself and some how feel like being part of an elite decade club, all 80's people understand this, I've said when I have a kid i'm going to let him play the old Nintendo while he's young because games were so much more innocent back then. I think it's funny, I mention this to my work colleague, Then I mentioned, Mask, ulysses 31, Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Teenage mutant Hero Turtles as the cartoon was called in the UK. brings me back.
@shaunberry1982 lol, you were born during the 80's, most of the part of that decade you were just a toddler, by the time you reached your early teens the 80's were long over...no, people who were born during the eraly to mid 70's can be considered kids from the 80's, becasue they reached an age where they could enjoy everything from that decade to the fullest.
In that regard I would count you as a child from the 90's, just being born in the the 80's doesn't cut it.
@mitrooper I don't think so mitrooper. Actually in 88 I was 6 and watching these cartoons. I would not call 6 a toddler. By then I was well into playing Nintendo and watching 80's movies, just because it was near the end of 80's doesn't mean it doesn't cut it, who the fuck are you the decade police. OK I wasn't a teenager but I was a small kid and I still remember it. your just an ass hole from the Netherlands. Stupid Dutch Bastard.
@mitrooper atleast my country contributed to the 80's fucking dutch did nothing but make cheese. Thye don't make anything, shit music, shit movies, shit culture, dutch never did anything. so fuck you dutch cunt.
@mitrooper I would have to respectfully disagree. I was born in dec of 1979 and consider my self a child of the 80's. I watched cartoons like this as a kid.
@purplemutantas Yes I never forgot tundercats, wow that brings back memories, I use to have the thundacats sword with the red button in the middle and that claw tank thing, it's grey. Hey remember ulysse 31 , Mask, and many more. They were good cartoons not like what crap they got today. spongebob is ok. sorry about the rant below just don't like people telling me who I am without knowing me.
TeleToon Retro currently plays Thundercats and Transformers. Personally i think they should be replicating those 80s Saturday mornings to the best of their abilities. He-Man, She-Ra, Smurfs, Fraggle Rock, C.O.P.S., MASK, TMNT, BraveStarr, the list goes on and on.
What the hell - this cartoon was genius! GENIUS!!! The theme tune was wicked, the cartoon was amazing, and the horsey side kick - he was BAD ASS! Made Mr T from the A-Team look like a chump!
I can't count the number of toys I had from this show... I even had the gun that fired an infared beam from one gun to another for laser tag-ish shootouts. I made the mistake of going on ebay to look up some of this stuff only to find out that my collection would have been worth about a thousand dollars now... A complete Sandstorm figure alone is going for $90... Damn you puberty!!!
It was an 80s cartoon. There were few cartoons around that time that -didn't- have either homoerotic references or actions that could be misinterpreted as such. He-Man, Hercules... most of the "strong-man" based cartoons were rife with them.
@ianwestc So, He Man holding a large sword above his head was a penis reference then? Damn! My childhood was rife with homosexuality, I guess I'm lucky I'm straight and happily married, aren't I? Over-think things much?
@20bdl00 Agreed. It combined sci-fi with a western, gave the hero plausible super-powers, and it even made sense most of the time. That's rare today. (At least to me)
For a cartoon and a show, unfortunately this was made by Mattel to sell toys which it failed to move thus the show only lasted a season. This is also what killed the new Masters of the Universe cartoon Mattel failed to understand that shows just don't sell action figures anymore, Transformers are the exception because they are far more interactive than ordinary action figures.
Great show. I had Marshall Bravestarr, 30/30 and Tex Hex toys when I was a boy, many years back.
I was really upset to learn that the reason this only lasted one series was because Hasbro messed up on releasing the toys (they released them before the series came out on TV, and the toys did rather poorly as a result, so they decided there wasn't a market for them and pulled the plug on the TV show. Grrr...).
I hate Erica Scheimer the dumb bitch who sings in all of filmation's cartoon. Can't stand her voice. On a positive note, this cartoon was pretty cool, man it really takes me back.
I had the the toys to this! I really like them because they were bigger than the he-man toys! Bravestarr was great, but I could not shake off the feeling that he was not as big as He-man or the thundercats.
Man! That's old school! I remember watching this show when I was in elementary school. It used to come on in the mornings at 8 am. What a great memory. Very cool.
I am 24 yrs old and I remember watching this show when I was like 6 or 7. Everyone I talk to about the show has no idea what I'm talking about, I'm glad to see it's not forgotten.
Believe me it will NEVER be forgotten by its loyal fans like me, much like the Jetsons and Flinstones will never be by our parents, but the real question is do you remember "G-Force"? I will be surprised if someone else besides me does
Thank you SO MUCH for uploading this! I'm 28 and no one I talk to remembers Brave Starr. NO ONE. It's like it never existed. But then I see this! Yes!!!
becky2shoes, I'm 25 and not only do I remember this GREAT toon, but also other greats like Dinosaucers, Thundercats, and Captain Tsubasa. I'm glad that after all these years I've FINALLY found someone who I can share great nostalgic feelings with
This would be a great Cowboys from Hell music video. \M/

I will be surprised if someone else besides me does

becky2shoes, I'm 25 and not only do I remember this GREAT toon, but also other greats like Dinosaucers, Thundercats, and Captain Tsubasa. I'm glad that after all these years I've FINALLY found someone who I can share great nostalgic feelings with
