heya :) I know you're doing wonders for these birds, but please understand that processed things like wheat (in crackers and bread etc) are bad for them. Their diets should be primarily fruit, veggie, seed and nut.
Over that passed few years we actually eat organic foods here in addition to reading labels... (Humans and Birds)
Nothing Bleached, Hydrogenated, Enriched, Sugar, Salt or Corn Syrup. as a 1st - 5th ingredient.
We support whole grain and natural. Seeds & Nuts are great for free birds but cause obesity in captive birds, causing liver damage or even strokes over long term feeding if that is their primary diet. We offer 2tblsp of seed a day to our birds.
P.S. We are also actually Vegan but not judgmental of others. Got to love America and freedom, right? I just can't eat them, But if you like it... good for you.
I am not trying to be a smarty pants. Just over time and investigation of the cases that have come into our sanctuary... I just have lost a taste for animals.
Have you ever heard of the phrase "You know to much?"
Yeah they are still in quarantine. I think a lot of light hurts Arias eyes a bit yet. We work more and more in for when he gets to come out. I have even taken them outside about 4 times now.
