@Monkeyland03 i am not a hindu, no. i grew up a christian in america, but practice that faith no longer (nothing against jesus, he's great!). i practice shamanism, and mystical alchemy. meditation became a great part of my practice and beliefs several years ago.  my question for you was meant to be taken as a rhetorical question. i find that many people say things that hindus say without fully understanding them (even some hindus themselves).

@Monkeyland03 hinduism is a very complex religion to fully understand. the more i study this the more i realize this. unlike other religions that find basis in one book set in stone (you know christianity, judaism, islam), it is a merging over time of many primitive faiths and practices together into one. fire worship, or rudra worship, is the oldest faith found in india, which later became shaivism (shiva worship).

@Monkeyland03 of all the demigods, i can relate most to shiva and his family. from my understanding of that statement, "all the gods are one", what is implied is not that they are all one god in different emanations, rather that they all worship each other for different aspects of divinity. it is a big circle of love and power, kind of a hippy sentiment almost. we are all one being in different parts, not only the demigods. the entirety of the universe is inside all of us.

@Monkeyland03 only one of the gods is truly "God", and that is vishnu. everything is a part of the emanation out of vishnu. some say krishna is the original source, and that even the mahavishnu emanates out of him, but it is confusing. others say krishna was merely the 9th avatar (or incarnation) of vishnu. some people believe buddha was the 10th, but i don't think that belief is held by all hindus. many differing sects of hinduism will argue that their god is the supreme!
