  • Never heard this one so beautiful Thank you♥

  • This was originally written as the theme for a French movie of the same name staring a very young Jane Fonda . As I recall, the music but not the lyrics, made it into the version that was released in the US.

  • Raw & so true.

  • John's music is so compelling, so heartfelt, it resonates with me still as it has from the moment I first had the privilege of hearing it. To know that just one other person felt the way I do, to know that someone UNDERSTOOD how I feel about so many things, it made me feel a bit less alone in this big world . I miss him terribly, but at least I will always have his music, and the beauty and memories it brings.

  • For my big brother who died suddenly 5 years ago.

  • This song has a very sad meaning for me.

I discovered it just after John died and used to listen to it, sometimes in tears, while waiting for my son to finish his football game. My younger son would play with his friend's brother, whose parents were also waiting.

Once the small friend saw my tears and asked me why I was sad, he was such a beautiful child.

Later that year he was killed in a car crash and suddenly the song was about his parents' feelings on their loss - the game is over now.

  • So very beautiful. I have never heard this wonderful song. I am so glad you put video with this song. Thank you cat. I sit and cry when I listen to some of his songs because the words are so beautiful, and some have a personal meaning to me. Some are tears of love and tears of sadness. Then some are of joy to be able to hear the songs of this wonderful, talented genius. I know John is missed and was loved by many. He will never be forgetten though. His music will live on.

  • I know what you mean about some songs having a personal meaning Pamela.. that's how it is for me too.

  • Ahh, nothing better than this!! I so love this song!!

  • This is an "oldie" from Denver's 1970 3rd album "Whose Garden Was This" (I think it is ONLY on this album) and did not get ANY attention or airplay - but neither did the entire album. This HAD to be written for the one that came BEFORE Annie (married 6/67) - (Maybe Bobbie???) and just put on a shelf for a few years!!!

  • I've been a big fan of JD since high school when I first heard Annie's Song. From then on I've been listening and collecting his songs whenever I can. For me, his genius is in wording his emotions plainly and unafraid of showing it in his songs nor when he is singing them when most of us are the opposite.

Catbrush123, your talent in bringing JD's music together with pictures makes you a genius too, in my opinion, as the combination makes listening and watching a pleasurable delight.

  • Just so beautiful....

  • Thank you. :-)

  • So beautiful....it's been ages since I have heard that song.....you created a beautiful set of photos to go with this song....excellent!

  • Thank you. :-)

  • so beautiful...it can make you cry but then tears (of love) are sweet instead of salty... JD really pulls out those emotions doesn't he !

  • Yep.. you could end up an emotional wreck.. lol... only joking... hey you are a real romantic at heart... !!!! :-)

  • Fantastic. Absolutely.

Makes me wonder. I do that a lot.

But i wonder why would one see something as wrong after years pass. Why would something so right become so wrong after time. If something is right then it should be right now too. Ah just thinkin out loud. Well done for making me think about things. ( : < () )FB

  • Jeeze you do ask difficult questions!!! :-)
