Women are inundated with unrealistic standards of beauty on a daily basis--if we all had the money, most of us would do it just to make the negative voices in our head STFU. Any woman who says otherwise is LYING.
It's sad when somone wants to hold onto their looks and youth so damn bad cos no amount of surgery is gonna hold off the onslaught of time forever. Eventually, time gets you and when that happens and you can't come to terms with it, you're gonna find yourself overwhelmed.

i have a mild case of BBD (i was dignosed) i wont go out without bronzer, foundation, blush, lip liner, ect all the way up to hair extentions and false eyelashes, i watch my weight like crazy and sometimes with skip meals and work out for hours on end. and im only 15, these stories seriously show me im not the only one
there's a certain hardness about in the face with women that get plastic surg. i like freshness, and i dont mean young, at any age you can look fresh. but thats the ONE THIING that surgery does away with. onces the fresh look is lost you just look used up...
Glad she is getting help, but the sociopath she used to date will almost certainly never seek help. They are very dangerous and destructive people. If you have someone like that in your life run fast and far.
im so for it! were not all the same! i myself if i had the money would LOVE 2 change things. artist, and maybe vain, but im sick of looking @ the same face....it can be changed, why not change it? (would love lips nose and neck done!!)
wow the look in her eyes when he asked about her relationship at 17.... i can see how she feels, she's been hiding for so long that she can barely open up more about it though......and it's like you can see her feel that she's gone too far to go back now...
i really feel for this woman, everyone body has had some kind of anxiety once in their life but being in a relationship and someone picking out your faults everyday for years is damn right depressing he needs shooting, she was gorgeous enough, i think she really needs to stop she still looks beautiful , i hope this doctors has helped her he knows what hes talking about, i think everyone will agree that there was nothing wrong with her

i love this doctor!!! SO smart, and he really know what he is talking about, and the reason behind our actions. I wish he was my doctor..

But the only thing ever on my mind is how do I look, I want to look better, I *must* make myself beautiful. My attitude right now towards CBT is yes, I want to be over this, but first I want to become irreversibly gorgeous, damage done.
The psychologist Dr. Pratt was measured and dignified in his assessment of Ms. Lee. I noticed that he prefaced his comments about her in a positive light.

Tools such as Energy Psychology (that may include tapping of acupressure points while holding the negative thought) Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing and Clinical Hypnosis are highly effective clearing everyday distress ( micro-traumas) and more severe traumas as well. @temilou i do agree to a certain extent. but there has to be an underlying cause for people to feel a certain way to be more vulnerable to that mindset and trend. wether it be disorders or abuse or just character flaws. also this is more of an upper class thing. people with so much money that can afford to have their "demons" manifest in this particular manner. so short answer, yes these evil companies prey on people but people have to be able to recognize and rise above.

@temilou i do agree to a certain extent. but there has to be an underlying cause for people to feel a certain way to be more vulnerable to that mindset and trend. wether it be disorders or abuse or just character flaws. also this is more of an upper class thing. people with so much money that can afford to have their "demons" manifest in this particular manner. so short answer, yes these evil companies prey on people but people have to be able to recognize and rise above.

i literally feel sick reading some of the comments here.
i also feel sick at the stupidity of the three men on this programme.
she started with low self esteem which is very very common in thousands of people, the surgery creates the issue.
without the option of surgery, this woman would have not been classed as having 'body dysmoprhic disorder'. she has low self esteem and surgeons are exploiting this and causing the issues to get worse.
